To me it sounds like you have something stuck in your pump. I would check that first. I had the high pitched sound during the spin cycle on my machine and it turned out to be the drum bearings. That part used to be covered by a 10 year warranty but not anymore. My machine was less than ten years old and it cost me around 300.00 to fix it. I have paid for my machine 3 times over in repairs. My next washer will NOT be HE and probably an old school Speed Queen

During spin cycle it makes a high pitch whining sound and sounds like a button is loose in the tub

does it have a burning smell? is it belt driven? rather than direct drive. belt are known to emit a whinning pitch sound at times. could be bearings going out. and sometimes a pc of metal opr material can get stuck between hub and shell and make weird sounds?

My vax vacuum has started making a high-pitched whining/whisting noise

Ususally this is caused by a forein object has gotten hung in the suction impeller attached to the motor. the noise flucuates due to the housing flexes with the movement of the handle and rod. the housings are usually made of plastic and something very small can easily get stuck in it and stay for a very long time. The vacuum needs disassembled and the forien object removed from the fan housing...
Hope this helps
Sincerely

Engine will not crank, battery and starter have both been tested and pass, hear a high pitched spinning noise when turning the key over

The high pitched spinning sound you hear is the starter bendex trying to engage the flywheel. The starter may check out ok, but the bendex is turning but coming out. The starter will need replaced.

During clothes washer spin cyle makes a high pitch squeeling sound like letting air out of a balloon very slowly

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. You need to check the motor drive and spin bearing. It may be the bearing. The drive motor controls the spinning, draining, and the agitation. Usually, when noise is associated with the spin cycle, it is either one. It is not an easy fix. Make sure to follow your manual. If not, you may want to call out a professional.

Makes buzzing noise and won't spin or drain

Sounds like something is stuck in the drain pump.  If nothing is stuck in the pump replace the pump.  It won't spin until it drains, so fixing the drain problem will fix the spin.  You can get at the drain pump by taking off the bottom panel.

On boot up not reading the hard drive all the connections look good

How big is the drive? How old? You need a very quiet room for booting. When you boot, listen for a high pitched whine, this will be your disk spinning up. If you don't hear it, it may be stuck and a slight tap can sometimes make it spin again. Wishful thinking, but if it's older and small, break down and get a new big one. Don't throw the other away, the data can be retrieved. You can also go to bios and set boot for CD/DVD. Put in your master disk and you can get at your disk, maybe.

High pitch continuous sound during washing cycle. not during fill or drain

Probably have something stuck in the chopper blade. You can try to dismantle the pump and clean out the obstruction, from the inside. But sometimes it will eventually work itself out. So try and run few more cycles.

Whining noise, only in rinse and spin cycle, sounds awful.

Check the pump to make sure there isn't something stuck in it.

Kenmore automatice washe3r 12202

You could have a machine that has a siezed drain pump. this can be checked by removing the belt off of the bottom of the machine and spinning the drain pulley by hand. it should turn freely in both directions. if it does then the problem is in the main tub assembly. it could be a simple as a foreign object between the tubs or something more complex like a siezed transmission.
