Is it stopping in the middle of a cycle? I sometimes have the same problem. I'm sure you've tried pressing the stop/cancel button and then the start button again. If you haven't try that. If that doesn't work, UNPLUG your machine, take off the lid (screws are on top edge of lid in back. Unplug and then plug back in the wires on the mother board. Put the top back on and try using it again. The wires on my mother board loose their connection. I believe they are the wires that say the door is locked. Anyway, this is what the service man did for me and I am able to manage without spending a ton of money on a new mother board. Sometimes when this happens now, I just hit the back of the lid over the mother board and hear a click, which means the wires made their connection again. Sometimes I still have to take the lid off. Hopefully, as in my case, your wires are just loosing their connection. Good Luck!
Check filter
I would check filter, but your problem is in the board. It should be under a warranty if it is under 3 years old. Kenmore is generally a good product, but contact Sears to get immediate help if it is not the filter.
