Two things come to mind. These generators are notorious for a bad ground. Secure power, secure the generator from turning on. Remove the ground bolt and wire brush all connectors. Reinstall ground cable. Also if your gas gets anywhere near a quarter of a tank generator automatically shut off so you don’t run out of gas using the generator. It’s a shorter dip tube in the gas tank that causes this. Of course, if your generator is gas and uses fuel from your RV tank. Hope this helps.

Rv gen starts running when being towed

You may have a bad starting switch or button that is able to make contact while the RV is in motion. Maybe when you hit a bump it makes contact. It could also be the wiring that connects the starting switch to the generator or even the wiring or switch on the generator if it has switches or buttons located on the generator.

I have a Briggs & Stratton 5500 watts generator that I hardly pull the rope for start, begins stuck then its loosen again and again gets too hard to pull, any suggestions please help

If the unit is older it could have heavy carbon in the cylinder heads, it could be a ring sticking and binding, do a compression test. Compression is high or mechanical binding.

What size circuit breaker is on the generator that is tripping? You'll need a 20amp for AC alone, then consider other things that are drawing current when RV plugged in like , converter, fridge etc that may be drawing current at same time. Make sure fridge is on propane, as well as water heater if you have electric element option on water heater. AC may only draw 12-15 amps when running if good and clean and wired properly, but will draw 17-18 amps when compressor kicks in. Perhaps generator not designed for that surge?

Go to your heater and locate the circuit board inside. There is a 3 amp fuse that protects the board and it is a regular auto fuse and isn't made for any surges in the system. When you turned your generator on with the system on, chances are you surged the system and that fuse went. Breakers allow for surges where fuses don't

Portable generator pops breaker when temp is over 75 degrees

I take it you have RV plugged into generator. Hopefully direct with no extension cords. Are you using a 30 to 15 amp adapter to plug into generator? What is the rating of the breaker on the generator that keeps tripping, suspect it's only 15 amp?

Circuit Breaker and Dometic Rooftop RV Air

Its the watts you plug in too like ither 30 watts vs 50 watts. 30 watts will cause your wires to get hot in the unit. just pull down your breaker box and look at those white ground wires.
