SOURCE: Can you Factor on a TI-84? IF not, does the TI-89?

Well, to answer part of your question, yes... the TI-89 does factor like this. it is inputted like this:

factor(6*x^2+11*x+4,x)

Check the catalog in the TI-84 (which is 2nd-zero) and look under F for factor()

SOURCE: comma key on TI-84 Plus Siver Edition calculator.

The comma key on the TI 84 SE is above the 7 key, and it is just left of (, right of x squared, and below SIN. thats where the "," key is. If you're asking something else, please clearify. My understanding is that you don't know where the comma key is.

Nothing shows up on the screen when I push any buttons. It will turn on, but after that nothing I push shows up on the screen. I have taken the batteries and the back up battery out.

Does the cursor show up at all? TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible.

On my TI-84 Plus: Once I go to STAT Edit it asks me to name the tables, and when I try to put in L1, it gives me a message saying ERR: ARCHIVED. What do I do??

You already have a list L1 archived in memory.

You have two choices. You can either choose another name or you can unarchive the existing L1. To unarchive a list, press 2ND [MEM] 2 4 then use the arrow keys to move the highlight to the line containing L1 (there should be an asterisk "*" in front of the name). Press ENTER and the asterisk should disappear. Press 2ND [QUIT] to return to the home screen.

Alpha key not recognized when pushed

When the ALPHA key is pushed the cursor shows an A. Press one of the keys that has the same color as the ALPHA key (A,B,C,...X,Y,Z).
If you have the MathPrint OS, the ALPHA F1/F2/F3/F4 sequence activates shortcuts to newe features (fractions, logab, sums etc..)

How do I unarchive a A+Alg2 application on my ti-84 Plus Silver Edition?

Press 2ND [MEM] 2 to bring up the memory management menu (MEM is on the + key). Select either All or APPS. Scroll down to the item to be unarchived. Press ENTER and the asterisk indicating that it is archived will turn off. If it is already unarchived, pressing ENTER will turn on the asterisk, indicating that is now archived.

Trying to use the solver function getting an err: archived msg. What can I do to solve this? Using a TI-84 plus

Some variable in your function is in archive memory. Press 2ND [MEM] 2 to get into the Memory Management menu. Press 1 to select All. Do you see a variable you're using in your function with an asterisk to its left? If so, navigate down to it and press ENTER to turn off the asterisk. Do this for as many variables as necessary, then press 2ND [QUIT] to exit.

Try the Solver again.
