Tub seal leaking

Confirm that it is not the door seal. The door seal can easily be replaced and the parts are available.

You would expect that any water leaking around the door seal would migrate down to the lowest part of the tub leaving the appearance that the leak is where the two half's of the tub are joined by the retaining clips
.
Replacing the seal between the two tub half's is a different story as compared to the door seal. The tub seal is definitely do-able, but not for the faint of heart!!

If the leak is very very small I might wait until a major overall is require such as the tub seal/bearing. If I chose to wait I would monitor the situation.

Inspect the area at the hub of the pulley looking for streaks of rust.. If there is an indication that water is leaking past the basket tub seal than doing an over hall now may included front door seal, tub seal, bearing and basket seal replacement.

Tub to Pump Hose

If the washer is leaking water the hose from the tub to the pump might be split or torn. Don't try to cut off the bad piece of hose and stretch it to fit the pump, this will put strain on the remainder of the hose and may cause a sudden and complete failure of the hose which will dump potentially hundreds or thousands of gallons of water onto the floor because the next time the washer tries to fill all of the water will end up on the floor and so the washer will never shut off the valve. The usual charge when i have repaired that is around $375
in addation to the seal a tub bearing would be required since the seal has leaked it very likely has rusted the bearing. To replace those both the inner and outer tub have to come apart,the breakdown would be

The tub seal is the most common thing that causes Maytag washers to leak. This is unfortunate because the tub seal is an expensive repair job and not one I would suggest doing yourself. I say this because it is complicated and requires special tools to perform this job. To check if the tub seal is bad, first remove the front panel by removing the two screws from the bottom of the front panel. If you have a newer model, prize the bottom clips with a screwdriver. Then pull the bottom of the panel until the top clips release. Then start the washer and watch for a leak around transmission where it goes through the tub. If it does leak then the tub seal is bad and needs replacing. If you have the tool or willing to buy it click here for instructions on how to replace the tub seal. If the tub seal doesn't, leak you probably found the leak while performing this test.
