End of life for OKO Lavamat 538?

Hi After decades of faultless service, my OKO Lavamat 538 now can't cope with the start point of its anti-clockwise drum revolution, it has a kind of starting fit and bangs about. This is only during the wash cycles, and almost regardless of load size. Clockwise motion is fine. I paid the call out fee to a repair guy, but he had no idea. Is this fixable do you think, or should I just accept its days are over?

SOURCE: washer make a clicking noise

Zoobs, you could have something stuck under the agitator. The agitator will pull straight off. Grip it on each side and pull up hard, but don't hit yourself in the face. If that don't work, try slipping a belt under it and pull. Check for something caught under it. Another possibility could be the nylon suspension rod socket supports in the back. They will make a noise during agitation if they are dry. Put a little 3 in 1 oil to quite them down. Take the front panel off and check the pulley and belt, see if anything is out of whack. I also often find the motor support hitting the bottom panel during agitation making noise. Take the front panel off and observe during agitation. See if the support is striking the bottom. If so, just bend the bottom panel down. Catriver..post back.

I have had the same problem. If you switch the machine to off and then to cotton/linen 95, then press at the same time prewash, soaking, qick wash and stain buttons for 10 seconds switch it off. When I switched it on it worked.

Where is the filter for die AEG lavamat 538 washing machine and how do you clean it?

Hello,

The only filter/screen I am familiar with is the one in the hoses the supply hot and cold water to your machine. They should be checked once in a while but I have never found much in them.

However, the manual for your machine is located here:
AEG OKO LAVAMAT 538 Operating Instructions Manual

Best wishes,
Joe

What means c1 on aeg oko lavamat 74500

Hello!

Error C1 on AEG Lavamat usually means that there is a trouble with water filling. The required water level is not reached.

I reccomend you contact your local Service
Force Centre.

Here is the link to a manual of a similar AEG Lavamat waching machine (a "trouble shooting" part). Hopefully, it will help!

I lost the manual and i dont know the various programs

I've downloaded manuals for 2 washing machines and a DVD player from manufacturer's web sites. basically just put the in the details of the machine and you should be able to search for the manual. secondly if that's no good for you there is usually a phone number for services stuck to it some where, (it's on the bottom left hand side of mine) give them a call and ask if they can send you one. Hope this helps

What means error code "C9" ? AEG Lavamat 76669

Hi,

C9 Indicates Motor Fault. It seems that the Carbon Brushes have Worn out.

Replace it and more likely it would Fix the Problem.Once you replace that, you need to put the machine into Service Mode to Reset the Error.

Steps for Reset the Error Code

1. Press and Hold the Prewash and Soaking Buttons Together.
2. Whilst Holding them, Turn the Dial from Off one Click Anti Clockwise

Note - If problem persists, Check the motor plug for broken wires and check the state of the carbon brushes.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

AEG OKO LAVAMAT

- Turn Off - Press down Prewash and Soaking together. Keep them held down. - Slowly turn the knob clockwise to Gentle Spin - This should reset the machine
If you get a beep instead of a reset, there is a problem. - Keep the two buttons held down. - Slowly turn the know anti-clockwise to Wool 40 degrees - It should now give you an Error Code. - Google for the manual, which will tell you what the error code means
