Its probably in your ingnition switch, grab the switch and turn it right the turn key I had the same problem and that fixed it. It also wasnt starting and it was the same problem the switch is lose.

Cub Cadet 1525 belt diagram

How do i change oil on a cub cadet riding lawnmower

is yours the newer cub with a kohler command engine? if so pop open the cap on the drain to expose the port.
remove the oil fill cap/ dipstick.
put the rubber hose on the end of drain spout and route it to a safe container.
push in on the spout and rotate counter clockwise and pull outward on it to begin draining the oil.
