How do I get my maytag side by side refrigerator model# msd2756geq to cool down below 50

first turn your refrigerator temp setting to 1 then wait for the compressor to kick off, this will send the unit into defrost mode, and most units take between 1 to 2 hours to acclimate(get tempered) correctly. after a few hours gradually turn your unit towards 9 until the compressor kicks on, when it does , stop turning the knob, it will acclimate again, 1-2 hours (some units can acclimate in 15 minutes) check your unit temp and do not use the unit if it won't cool down to 43 or less degrees, you run the chance of food poisoning. hope this was helpful.

Heat Pump - blows heat to set temp, then off, then kicks on to blow cold

Heat pumps defrost which is the AC mode, if the heat strip isnt working during a defrost, the air will be cold, A heat pump only feels warm if the heat strips are on too! the refrigeration cycles heat output is much less sensible to our 98F skin. heat pumps that satisfy a room setpoint are working at least, all heat pumps feel drafty to most.

I have a White-Rodgers programmable thermostat. I have it set to go to 74 degrees at 11:00 PM. It has started going to 74 at between 10:00 and 10:30 PM. If I press run it goes back to the daytime temp...

Hello I assume its cooling program.Probally the thermostat has a recovery mode.In another words the thermostat will come on EARLY to make sure you are at (74*f at 11:00).Maybe try 11:30 start time and see if that helps or disable energy recovery mode.

You can set the temp for the unit to come on and it comes on and runs and cools for a few minutes then the compressor cuts off then the fan a little later. After a few minutes it comes back on and does...

Is the AC set on an energy saving mode. Together with this program if the thermostat is defective the same symtoms can appear. So please check on the thermostat and replace.
Since the compressor is cutting off the cooling does not take place to the extend that is set.

Model number HBLG 12303r how does the energy saver setting work bought this model used.

The energy saver setting will turn the blower fan off when the thermostat reaches the desired room temperature (with the compressor). Other non energy savers only cycle the compressor to regulate the room temp. so their fans will operate continusously using more electricity.

Ac set at 74 room temp up to 78 and no Ac kicking on.

it could be the thermostat is loose on the subbase or if you went from OFF to COOL and the stat is a digital stat It will not come on for five min. This is a delay set by the manufacture to protect the compressor. during normal operation you will not notice because thier will be more than 5 min from the time it shuts of till it need to come back on but if the system switch is set to off and you switch to cool or unit just shut off it will always delay 5min. usualy there will be some insdiction on the screen that it is in delay like a flashing COOL or SNOW FLAKE or the word WAIT. the unit will not be running until the flashing words go solid

New GE profile refrigerator bottom freezer model pfss6pkwass. Will not run, stuck in display mode. Lights are on but when setting temp on panel it goes back to off after a few seconds. After spending...

Ok, I had the same problem with this fridge. It is in "demo" mode. You have to push in and hold the Energy Save and Adjust Freezer buttons at the same time. Hold these in until the display starts flashing. You should hear the compressor kick on. I did this, and it was fixed and started cooling in a matter of seconds.
