We have been getting a load baning noise during the spin cycle. this has been going on for a few years. now machine does not complete wash cycle.
Purely based on the vague information you have given, this could sound like the drum bearings and the fact that it has been neglected for so long has resulted in serious damage to your machine, note to all, never continue to use machines making noises, it can only get worse and do mare costly damage, after all the problem could have been a very inexpensive fix problems on this and any other site, to be fixed by messages (without actually seeing the machine) can only be fixed - or advice can only be given based on the details that are given if you say my machine just stopped then you will not get an answer will you? engineers can help sort out lots of problems without seeing the machine if we are given the right DETAILED information, no matter how silly it sounds, so before you shout and complain at others, have a thought about what you are going to write sorry its bad news but i hope i have helped
He's probably right on that diagnosis. Sounds like you have a bad bearing. Very expensive repair. Another possibility is it shaking and knocking out a off balance or inertia switch. I have seen this happen before. There is one switch on top of tub. One switch on right side of tub and one on bottom. You need to look at schematic and check continuity at machine control board. these switches are in series. If one goes out it will stop spin. I believe that its 2 blue wires at board.

What is the model # of your machine???? The loud banging noise sounds like the loads were getting unbalanced. This is the most likely since i have no problems with the suspension all of a sudden not stabilizing tub properly. If the washer was moved or transported than that would make more sense to me. please provide as much info as you can. Try doing a load of 10 towels. Let me know how that does and with the model # i can help with pulling some diagnostic codes

Hello we have a Maytag Neptune MAH5500BWW that is making a funky pop, pop durring the beginning cycle and spin cycles when it goes into the spin cycle it makes the same noise but much louder and alot more frequent along with the jet engine sound. It Spins, Washes & Drains. I have spun the drum by hand both directions and have not heard the noise repeat.

neptune 6500 rattles load on the spin cycle
During the wash cycle the washer stopped and seemed to not be moving at all. When I tried to open the door, it would not open, even after the washer was unplugged.
