I have a JVC rear projection tv model AV56WP74. A couple of weeks ago all three colors went out of wack but I was able to align them again. Then a week later the green line at the top left habd corner curved down and I was not able to fix it. Now the convergence is all out on all three colors but especially the green which is curving. Is this expensive to fix or am I better off with a new t.v?
Maybe your lens is becoming loose, give the side of the tv a very light tap and see if there are any movements in the lines, if so, lens is coming loose
Its going bad.
Vertical Power section problem. Check it with near by repairer.
If you tv took any ipact it would cause this.
Good Morning
you appear to have a Hardware Failure in the set there are a couple ic's usually STK392-120 and probably will be a couple Bias resistors in the yoke return circuit damaged if your capable of using a Digital multimeter and have a soldering station less then a 100.00 in parts to restore it to operation if you have to have some one come out around 250.00
if repaired clean the optics they still have a fantastic picture
and will FAR out last the new sets .38 years servicing them and i have no idea what the manufactures have been thinking as everything there cranking out to day will never exists as long .
one thing to consider before repairing evaluate the set . are the colors still crisp and not mushy looking ?if you go in the menu and turn the color off look and see if the black and white is still nice and crisp if so then i would say its a safe repair

The green has a sag in it on the top of the screen that can not be ajusted out.
I have the same problem with my set. What can I do to fix this. I was told that I need a covergence mod. And it cost over 500.00. Is this true.
