Electric Mower electrocuted?

My neighbor borrowed my Task Force Model 25143 electric lawn mower and mowed over the electric extension cord. When he replaced the extension cord, the mower wouldn't start. Is my mower toast? Do I need to take it in for repair or would I be better off purchasing a new mower?

Try to replace the wire with the help of some professional. If it works then good if not then clean your electric lawn mower and sell it on ebay and buy a new one from moebot https://moebot.com.au/moebot-s5-and-s10/

Why won't electric cord task force lawn mower start ?

These are fairly simple DC motors. My guess is the bridge rectifier has failed. Here is a YouTube video describing how to check this.

My 2 year old corded electric Task Force mower whch has had very light use suddenly stopped in middle of mowing and won't restart. Didn't trip any breakers and the cord is fine. Felt cool, not clogged

Sounds like electric motor has gone bad. If you can get past the switch and put a tester on and see if there is any power there that would tell whether your switch has gone bad. I had a new electric motor go bad after ten minutes use. I ended up replacing it.

Stuck brushes,in the brush holders caused by corrosion,unplug the cord first,remove the cover and look for two carbon brushes that should be contacting the motor,if not stuck they may need replacement !

Electric Mower zapped?

They should replace it. They broke it. If it was just a cut in the cable it should work again, but they have probably burnt it out. Change the fuse first also as that would have popped.

Neighbor mowed the extension cord and mower won't start

Check the cord has been properly replaced. Check circuit with a meter (NOT connected to mains) The live pin on plug should connect to live pin on motor switch etc. (need to take off cover on switch unit)
Cutting through the cord should not have damaged the mower.

I have a task force electric push mower and while mowing my lawn it started to smoke and shut off.. now it wont turn back on what could the problem be

it probably burn up if it smoked throw it away get a new one not worth sinking money into it to fix it

Electric mower will quit after mowing for 10minutes. checked the extension chords and everything is plugged in.

I don't know what model or brand this is but once you make sure you have power at the end of the cord (bring something else to plug in to test it.) My next thought would be the switch. This seems to be the first to go on some of these. Look at the housing and see if it is cracked or distorted. Post brand and model # also.
