Frigidaire affinity FASG7073LW0 -- pretty certain i need a control board, but which one? the one on the front panel? or the one in the black box above the drum? the dryer stopped mid-load last night with a service message and "E66 HEATER" code. since then, the display always shows "DOOR OPEN" and doesn't run at all. the door switch is working fine, so i assume my control board is bad. i just didn't know which control board was being spoken of. or maybe there's something else i should try first? thanks
Hello Abe D - An error code E66 is associated with the heating element relay. A technician would typically check the ohm resistance of the relay to determine if it is the cause of the error code. If the readings are incorrect, the heating element is replaced. If the readings are incorrect, it could potentially be the main control board. This is not a normal DIY job so you may want to connect with a local servicer to determine the exact diagnosis. I hope this helps explain the error code you are receiving.
ah--thanks for the reply. i ended up tearing the thing completely apart, testing everything. the fuse on the rear of the heating tube (?) was dead. called the thermal limit. $12.99 from my local appliance place. i find it strange that the messages on the display referenced "heater" and "door open" but i suppose they were on the same section of wiring or something..

SOURCE: my frigidaire affinity front load dryer shows the
AD is a indication of board problems.I would unplug the unit for 20 minutes to see if unit will reset

Check you circuit breaker. Even if it doesn't look tripped reset it anyhow. This is a power interrupt code.
SOURCE: My Push Start Relay or Control Knob is not starting the Dryer
is this the even heat model? if it is you need a new control board on the back of the timer area and might as well buy a couple relays the black ones with 4 wires in them. one is for the pts and the other is a heater relay both are the same part
Hello Jacqueline Sanchez, thank you for your post!
I understand that your Frigidaire washer is showing you an "E66" error code. I show that "E66" stands for the heating element relay failure, which means you could be experiencing an issue within your heating element or main control board. I would recommend performing a reset to your appliance which you can do by flipping the circuit breaker for roughly ten minutes. If that does not correct the issue I would recommend having a technician come out to properly diagnose and repair your appliance. -Matt
Hello wez1330 - Error code E66 indicates that the thermal limiter circuit is open. Base on the intensity of the issue, I suggest contacting a professional technician to accurately repair the unit. Technician will need to check the inlet or outlet thermal limiter for continuity. If the thermal limiter is open, tech will need to check for evidence of high temperature event and any resulting damage. If no futher damage is evident, the thermal limited and retest will need to be replaced.
