Washer won't drain or spin

I washed a comforter and when it got to the spin cycle, the washer jumped around and stopped completely. When I ran a new load of clothes, my washer worked until the rinse cycle. It did the agitation, but now it won't drain so my clothes are sitting in soapy water.

Top loader ??? or front loader??? if top loader you have broken your lid switch, will fill, agitate, but when it comes to drain/spin for safety reasons if the unit doent recognize the lid closed it will not advance...if yo have a front loader then i would suspect that something has gotten into the pump assy and preventing drainiing of water therefore will not spin

Washer Kenmore 80series Doesn't want to drain the water after it's RINSE CYCLE. No sound from motor or pump. It just stops. does it drain after the wash cycle? if it does, then I don't think it's the...

Solution for Washer Kenmore 80series stopped on SPIN CYCLE and no Drainage or motor running.

** What was stopping it to drain was the defective limit switch which when the cover lid is closed starts the spin and the drain at the same time. I jumped the wires to get my close washed and I have to replace it for security. I had to unscrew the front control panel and remove the casing that wraps around the washer to have access for the limit switch wireing harness. I cut the two black wires and joined them with a wirenut so that I was able to continue my wash and draining the water leftt over.
