Sony DSC-W50 Flash Error code-E:91:01

Hello, My W50 Cybershot has a Flash error coming up after my wife accidently dropped it on vacation. When I have it on and shooting photos, it constantly has the E:91:01 error flashing on the screen. I have tried to initialize the camera and it always comes back after a few seconds. Thank you in advance for the help. L. Kansas.

I have a method to stop the E:91:01 error flashing on the screen.it were not solve the flash function but atleast you can use the camera without flash. 1)at setup do a initialize. 2)go to flash function to turn off the flash (must do it fast,b4 the E91:01 appear,if not you need to reset it again ) by now E91:01 will never appear.you can use it like normal,be sure not to turn on your flash again or go to night mode.if not you need to perform step 1 & 2 again.hope it help.

I got it rectified, using sony service center. They say, one of the capacitor damaged. They have replaced it. Mine is in warranty. They say, actual cost would be in INR 4000/-(for your information to compare).

They say, this error can come, if we click photos continuosly, the capacitor may get heated up. We need to give a gap of 3 to 4 seconds. Time to be given for the flash to get recharged after a click.

Customer support at Sony may help- but it seems the drop did it no good at all. The chances are a new camera will be the cure

SOURCE: Sony DSC-W50 Flash Error code-E:91:01

Press Menu button
togle across from REC Mode to setup
togle down thrice from camera to setup 1
togle across into sub menu
togle down from four times to Initialize
togle across again to the sub-menu
togle up from cancel to OK
press center button to accept the OK choice
Screen changes and so press okay again
It should restart the camera
Opening on the 'Clock Set' screen
togle down to cancel and use the camera and make sure that you have the camera to flash, if it works try again in the Auto function.
If it is still not working do not worry follow the steps again two or three more times, As this is generally a software error message and not a hardware malfunction.
If it is working then don't forget to set your Clock.

When i on my sony cybershot dsc-w35 a"E:91:01" msg will display in screen, and flash is not working

A letter and number error code of E:61:xx , E:62:xx , or E:91:xx is an indication a malfunction has occurred in the camera. To try resolving any of these error codes, power reset the camera back to the original factory specifications.

I'll forward a link to a page where you can view the information about power resetting the Camera.

Please click on the link to open the page to view the troubleshooting steps.

Flash will not flash

Sounds like you need a new flash unit. It could be the system board, but this is not likely if you are not getting an error message from the camera.
