After initial fault code, low level of water visible in the drum. Start pressed then machine continued to fill past normal level for rinse cycle then washed for 1 minute then machine stopped with code E 10. After another attempt with the tap off, the start/pause button flashed and door unlocked so I could change the cycle to pump out. After claening and checking as above machine will not commence wash cycle after initial pumping.

I have had the same problem. If you switch the machine to off and then to cotton/linen 95, then press at the same time prewash, soaking, qick wash and stain buttons for 10 seconds switch it off. When I switched it on it worked.

I had the same problem (E20) for a long time and tried everything in the manual before I called AEG to have someone stop by and fix it.
He took the whole top off as well as the back and pulled out all this fuzz that was stopped somewhere. He said it normally comes from using too much detergant and also from not letting the machine run empty every now and then....but it doesn't say to do this in the manual. And anyway, I can't imagine that using too much wash powder made 1/2 kg of fluff.
I still have a guarantee on the machine, but they say that because it is my fault that I got E20 I have to pay for the repairment myself.
I actually think that they build the machine purposly in this way to keep up the money flow. I have an attorney on the case now.
SOURCE: On my AEG Lavamat 62810 washing machine, when I
inside the waasher there is a fill level valve i think its blocked up with "gunk" if you look inside the washer you should see a small pipe from the bottom of the drum going up to a round type of valve with lots of wires fitted to it at the top of the washer,,,pull the pipe off this valve and "blow hard" down through it,,any "gunk" should be pushed out and the washer should wook ok after that,,,if it dont change the valve!!!
Testimonial: "Yes! The machine now seems to be working fine after what was a fairly straightforward job even for a semi-klutz with machinery like me. Many thanks."
It is
possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors
due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program
controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN
pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from
the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the
water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the
voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no
voltage from the controller. This means
the controller is a suspect.
If the
water flows though the inlet then the flow pressure should be good, if not the
inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the
inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL
SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level
to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is
most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must
be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for
rinse and wash.

Check this
link to replace the inlet valve:
Finally
after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come
in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated
so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.
Make sure
that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check
the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the
valve or motor or pump.

Hi
Error code FH appears when No water is detected
entering machine or Pressure switch trip is not detected. If after 30 seconds
the control does not detect water entering machine and then valves will be
turned off and the error code will be displayed. Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to
clear the display. If there is no water entering the unit then make sure that
the inlet valves are working fine. You may need to check the continuity at the
inlet valves. If the valves are fine then check whether inlet water hoses as
they might be plugged. Also check for inlet water screen at the valve. However,
if the water is entering into the washer then the Drain pump might not be
working. Also inspect the Pressure Switch hose whether it is in good condition
and properly connected to Tub and Pressure switch. Also check hoses for leak
and inspect the flow meter. Hope this helps...
