My frigidaire keeps beeping and will not stop. Happened after the power went out. I have unplugged in and plugged back in and beeping noise does not stop. Manual talks about 3 beeps and 5 beeps, but mine beeps continually.

  • Anonymous Feb 11, 2009

same problem, beeps five times at 1 minute interval. Have reset it and nothing!

  • Anonymous May 01, 2009

  • grandpa2-17 Feb 14, 2014

Open the door, then Unplug your refrigerator from the ac outlet. 2) keep the door open for approx. 5 minutes. 3) Then while the door is still open, plug it in. 4) After you hear the beeping start, then open the freezer door also. 5) next time it starts beeping, close both doors in the middle of the beeping. It should immediately stop beeping. 5) wallah it's fixed. 6) You just reset the door ajar alarm.

Yes, the above worked for our fridge that was not turning back on after a power outage and it beeped continuously until we did the above.

I can't believe a 4 month old refrigerator would need this kind of help after a power outage ..... I hope this remedy works but it seem like we purchased a true piece of JUNK to trust our Frozen food with.

  • Anonymous Jul 14, 2019

I know this sounds crazy, BUT, our fridge beeped five times every minute. I put my phone in the fridge on video and the light was not going out so it thought the door was open. Taped the light toggle down, beeping stopped.

  • Anonymous Nov 12, 2020

Not crazy at all! I had to pay a service fee to learn something similar. Modern reefers don't always have a toggle switch. Some have a magnetic sensor. The magnetic field can be interfered with by items stored on top of the unit. Mine was cookie sheets and chafing dishes. Light stays on/interior gets warmer/random temperature alarms for several hours. I'd have never figured it out, so it was $90 well spent.

Benny, you're a rock star. I was up half the night doing everything I could imagine to kill that horrid noise. My teenage son had put stuff in the fridge that prevented the door from closing, and I fixed that, but even 9 hours later, the refrigerator was at the proper temperature, but it would not *******. Your trick worked like magic. Thank you so much. My son thanks you too, because he woke up to a not very happy mom, and we're all happy now!

Our Frigidaire refrigerator wouldn't come back on after a brief power outage caused by our hydro company. It started to beep constantly and wasn't running. We followed bennyc54 instruction above and it worked. Unplug or turn off the power to the fridge via the breaker and open the door for 5 minutes, plug back in or turn power back on to the fridge from the breaker and when you hear it beep, close the door. Ours started up, the display lights came back on and the fridge was running normally again after a few minutes, maybe four minutes or so.

I have had this problem for years. I finally pryd the face plate of the climate control drawer and pulled out the computer cable that connects the face plate to the drawer. The face plate pressed right back on. Problem solved!

Hi, can you be more specific. I have a can-do attitude but very little experience with appliance diys. My fridge beeps continuously beginning 2 days ago, I have used the tip above 3 times in two days now. It works temporarily. Its been humid, also maybe power outages or surges. This house is new to us, we're not really moved in yet... the fridge is 2008 I believe. Any help is appreciated

Thanks. Holding my breath. New control module after only 11 months. Overnight settling of frig and filled it and cleaned and started to cool food and then started beeping. Reset temperature in refrigerator side of unit and it wouldn't take. Turned power off to fridge, leaving door open for 5 minutes; closed door and reset temperature. I don't recommend Frigidaire brand after this experience.

Eurika.....it worked. Unplug for five min with the doos open and boom. On a side note, if the fridge is leaking water, then you have the vent frozen and it requires time to inthaw. You can doped up the process with a hair dryer. Best to clean behind your fridge annually to keep the ventilation system open. I vacuumed the whole lot area to remove all the dust and other stuff like cat fur. I am happy with my fridgidare.

My 2 cents on this and based on my own experience is that something in the refrigerator is not right and the cold air vent is blocked or full of ice..

My problem is the display doesn't show up and it's a constant beeping noise. The fridge and freezer will not cool. I have unplugged it and plugged it back in. It reset and beeped 3 times and worked fine. Now I'm finding myself having to do this process sometimes once or twice a week to twice in a twenty four hour period. What's going on and what do I need to do.

Hey my Samsung cooltech plus is making beeping noises fridge temperature is jumping from one temperature to another while the beeping noise is going on. Can anyone please help me thank you

Fridge keeps beeping or buzzing: The following is for Frigidaire models but others can be addressed similarly.

Several Frigidaire refrigerator models have an electronic control panel on the freezer door the owner can use to adjust the internal temperature, dispense ice and water and receive notification about issues such as the need to replace a water filter. The refrigerators also emit a beep for various actions and as an occasional alarm. Determining what causes the beeps necessitates some troubleshooting.
Temperature Controls ·A Frigidaire refrigerator's display panel blinks when the control panel is touched to set temperature controls. After pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, press the arrow buttons within five seconds to increase or decrease the desired temperature. If you do not press the arrow buttons within five seconds after pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, the refrigerator beeps to indicate the current setting will stay in place.

Door Open ·When you leave the refrigerator or freezer door open, the refrigerator beeps. Also, the "Door Ajar" indicator illuminates on the appliance's display panel. Shutting the door and pressing "Alarm Reset" stops the beeping and turns off the "Door Ajar" indicator light.
·The Frigidaire refrigerator has a control lock feature that prevents use of its control panel or dispensers when the unit is locked. When the control lock is active, a beep sounds when a keypad or dispenser is pressed. Release the control lock by pressing the "Control Lock" icon for three seconds. A beep will sound, and the icon's light will go out.
Power Reset ·A power reset is occasionally necessary if the Frigidaire refrigerator's control panel does not work normally or a reset function on the keypad does not work. A power reset involves disconnecting power to the refrigerator by unplugging its power cord from the electrical outlet, waiting 30 seconds and plugging the power cord back into the electrical outlet. When the control panel resets, a beep sounds. If the refrigerator beeps even after a power reset and the beeps' source is not known, contact Frigidaire.

My frigidaire side by side model#GLHS37EHSB7 is making a constant beeping noise and the electronic temperature display isnt coming on. what could be causing this

Hi Julie, this is JK. Thank you for your recent post!

I see that your Frigidaire Refrigerator, GLHS37EHSB7, is constantly beeping but the electronic temperature display is not working. Generally, this could happen when you experience a power failure. I would strongly suggest that you either unplug or turn the circuit breaker off to the unit for about 30 minutes. Let the unit reset completely and try to use it as normal again. If this concern still continues, I would recommend connecting with a professional appliance tech for a clear-cut diagnosis.

Hope this helps!
