SOURCE: Roper washer does not drain

Alicia7q : Faulty water pump or restriction in drain line between tub and outlet hose.

arlenekc,: That metal thing is part of the motor. What you have is a leaking water pump.

badwasher,: Check the lid switch. This machine will not spin or drain if the switch is faulty.

SOURCE: Kenmore washer will not spin or drain water, agitate works fine

Sounds like a lid switch. there should be a hole under the lid on the right side about the size of a dime. Make sure the plastic "flipper" is inside and "clicks" when you push down on it with a pen.

SOURCE: Maytag washer, model: LAT8415AAE top loader. Washer fills with water but will not start agitating, spin or drain.

Check lid switch. Most will not run with lid open and the switch may not be pressed down when door is closed

SOURCE: GE washer GNSR2140A0WW wont spin/agitate but fills and drains

Hello, your problem is going to be with the lids switch, in this machine it is going to be a magnetic contact. You can confirm this my pulling the front panel off and accessing the wireing to the lids switch, If you have electrical knowledge bypass the lid switch using a wire nut and run the machine. If all is ok make sure you relpace the lid switch since it is there for a reason. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck!!!

ROPER WASHER PULLEY SYSTEM WON'T SPIN OR DRAIN

There are a few potential causes for your Roper washer not spinning or draining:
  1. Drive belt: If the drive belt is broken or slipping, it could prevent the tub from spinning. Check the belt for any signs of damage or wear, and make sure it is properly tensioned.
  2. Lid switch: Even though you said the lid switch is ok, it's still worth checking it again as it is responsible for ensuring that the washer will not spin or drain unless the lid is closed.
  3. Motor coupler: The motor coupler connects the motor to the transmission and can wear out over time. If it has failed, the washer won't spin or agitate. Check the coupler for any signs of wear or damage.
  4. Drain pump: A clogged drain pump or pump motor failure can prevent the washer from draining. Check the pump and clean out any debris that may be blocking it.
  5. Control board: The control board could also be a potential culprit, especially if the washer is not completing cycles correctly. Check the board for any signs of damage or malfunction.
  6. Transmission: If none of the above solutions work, there may be an issue with the transmission. This will require a professional repair.
I hope this helps you diagnose and fix the issue with your Roper washer.

I OVERLOADED THE WASHER AND NOW IT WILL NOT DRAIN OR SPIN

your washer doesnt have a belt, it is a direct drive with a coupling on the motor, so that is not likely your problem.
i would look to see if the lid switch is broken, when the switch wont work it wont spin or drain. if the coupling is broken it wont agitate or spin, but will drain the water.
just look under the top and see if the switch is just hanging loose. it has 2 screws holding it to the cabinet and a wiring harness that goes to the control panel.
