My Kindle Touch had the same problem but the solution is quite simple:
All you have to do is restart your Kindle Touch by tapping Menu then Settings then Menu again, then Restart. Hope it works on yours as it did on mine.

Touch feature for my Kindle Fire HD is not working. I may have accidentally changed the setting? How do I fix it?

Hello Friend...

Many issues with your Kindle Touch, such as a frozen screen or issues with downloading content, can be solved by restarting your device.
1.Press and hold the Power button for a full 40 seconds.
After the first 6 to 8 seconds, the screen will go blank, which is normal. Continue holding the Power button.
2.After the 40 seconds, release the Power button.
The charge indicator light will turn on after a few seconds.

How xcan I transfer all my archived kindle books to my newer kindle

On your old Kindle, in settings select 'sync my kindle' (to make sure all content is in the cloud)
On your new Kindle, register with the same account, and then select 'sync my Kindle' on that one.
They should now both have the same content.

Amazon kindle suport web page

If I understand you correctly, you have a new Kindle Fire HD and would like to transfer the data from your old Kindle Fire to your new Kindle Fire HD. This is easy, follow these steps:
Step 1: Connect the old Kindle to Wireless. Pull down the upper status bar, select More + and then select My Account on the old Kindle
Step 2: Using the Old Kindle, select Deregister under My Account, let the task complete
Step 3: When the old Kindle has Deregistered, then pickup the new Kindle. If you accidentally registered this Kindle Deregister it and then Factory Reset the device.
Step 4: Now the old Kindle is Deregistered and the new Kindle is factory Fresh, let's begin the process.
Step 5: On the new Kindle, let's reboot after Factory Resetting the device. When the device powers back up you should be presented with a login Window. Go ahead and register the device to the same account as the Old Kindle. The sync process should begin automaticlly, it can take up to one full day to sync all your content.

How do i delite books i have read

To delete content on Kindle 1

Connect the USB cable that came with your Kindle to a PC.When prompted, select "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer." You should now see 3 folders named: "Audible, music and documents."
Open the "documents" folder. From the "View" menu in explorer, select "Details." so that you can see all file details -- in columns. Click on the top of the "Name" column to sort all of your documents by name. You should see two files for each book you have on your Kindle. The extensions for these files are ".AZW" and ".MBP" The AZW file will be the largest of the two. For each title you wish to remove, select both related files and delete them. Don't forget you can hold down the "Ctrl" key to select multiple items in the list...
Disconnect the USB cable from your Kindle. Turn the Kindle off, then back on. The deleted titles should now be missing from your Kindle home page.

It is much easier to delete the content on Kindle 2, scroll to the shaded line below the book you want to delete. Push the mouse button to the right and a menu will pop up - "Remove from Device" is the last option. Scroll to that choice, select and Voila!

How to transfer music or books to your Kindle device.
1. Connect your Kindle to your computer. It will be available as a drive under My Computer for Windows users or in the Finder for Mac.
2. There are 3 folders on the device:
  • Documents - Digital reading materials. Newspapers, books, etc.

My Kindle is not connecting. I have restarted it several times at different times and different locations but to no avail. It is only 3 months old and in spotless condition. It worked well until 2 weeks...

Call Amazon First and try to register you Kindle again. If you're account was de-activated that may be all that's wrong. If all attempts trying to get it to connect fail, you may have a logic board issue. Again amazon should send you a replacement. If not, If that fails, you can get the part at Kindle Repair and there is a guide that shows you how to open a kindle and install parts at Kindle Repair Guide.
