It won't spin, sometimes stops mid-cycle and just quits. it can tumble, but doesn't always. sometimes i can get it to spin if i set it on the spin cycle on reduced spin, but not always. sometimes i'll try 7 times, and then give up wait and two hours later is will partially wash and then stop again mid-cycle. what could be the problem?

Sounds like an electronics problem. Get a Bosch repair person to look at it. Hopefully, they can reset the computer inside. Otherwise, it's a part that costs more than $200, as I recall, plus too much to do the work. Bosch's 1-800 person once advised me to unplug my washer - a model 2401 - for a half-hour as a way to reset the electronics. You might try that. Pray to the appliance gods. Maybe your machine is still under warranty. Trouble is, you'll probably have to wait for days until an authorized, over-priced repair person comes to visit. Bosch is way behind in service levels here in the U.S. They know it, but it's not worth their time or money to fix, it seems. A long story ....

start a cycle, once the door lock light comes on pull on the door to see if its really locked if not, you need a new door lock assembly

My Bosch Nexxt Essence front load washer will not drain. I changed the lint filter, and insured that the drainage hose was free of debris. I removed all the wet clothes, wrung out the excess water, and redistributed the clothes. Still, no draining or spinning. Initially there was a humming sound, but now there is no sound at all when I try to restart the drain or spin cycles. All the lights are appropriately "on".

take a look at your manual that came with your machine go to problems usually at the back and see what that says,or go to the bosch website and type in your model number its on the inside of the door.i would suspect a program fault.adrian,,,,,

Hi gillsteer,
I believe your drain pump filter is just clogged. The drain pump is
trying to pump the water out before the Spin cycle, but can't. Usually
this is caused by a foreign object that is obstructing the impeller. See
my tip on how to access, drain & clean the Drain Pump Filter:
ACCESS, DRAIN & CLEAN THE DRAIN PUMP FILTER
After this, the Spin cycle will run, after the drainage procedure. If it
does not, then you may need to replace the Drain Motor. Which is a easy
task.
