Can i fix this problem or do i need a tech to come out?
SOURCE: miele W1712 washing machine drain fault
Just had the same problem, after Much patience and persistence I found the blockage at the y piece that joins the pump to the outlet hose air trap towards the top of the machine LHS with the top and cover off.
It was clogged solid therefore no back pressure on the top little ball valve (between the air trap and the outlet) therefore no seal therefore norain therefore a drain-fault that persists regardless of a cleaned pump filter.

F53 is a motor fault, Most likely the Tacho open circuit. Tacho comes part of the brush module assembly. You will need full model and index number before ordering part.

I just got an F63 error message with a W1712 machine maybe 8 years or more old and was advised by Miele Sydney Australia, that they couldn't give out information as to what F63 is or might be about! The machine shows the green PC light on front. Tech call out is AUD minimum AUD170 half hour then AUD6 dollars every 3 minutes. My enquiry that it may relate to an electronic issue and cost was responded to that electronic parts cost AUD300 upwards. Hmm, again, not economical to repair (really, do I have to landfill everything?) and an utter lack of after market service transparency by this company. Not good enough.
I have the same error fault f63 now, I always have a go myself, see what I find out.
Hi ...I am back after few hours of having a go. Now after 3 loads of washing done. F63 is gone. For those who likes to have a go like me. The cause is the moisture sensor “elbi” sensor board is contaminated with carbon dust from brush motor. I just clean the board, and clean the rectangular gland seal and add a smear of sealant.....done. I also fixed F53 code by replacing with genuine Miele carbon brushes. I hope to see Miele using brushless motor soon. Thank you
I did change the drum seal...very dirty and full of deposits scale, after changing the seal and clean off the deposits on the spinning drum, now I tell my wife how to maintain the seal to prevent it from mouldy. Easy after every 2-3 washes, wedge a dry towel to absorb the moisture tightly between the seal and the drum lip. This to ensure the water is sucked up to prevent mouldy.. please ensure little children and small pets from entering the drum by accident. We must care for them first. while the front round door is left open. W1712 Is my Miele front loader ....well into 8 years of usage.
How do you remove the W1712 front panel to change the door seal?
