    I disconnected the cord and plugged back in. Seems to be working fine now. Frustrating that this error code is not listed anywhere in the instruction manual. Grrrrrrr.

Take out your filter and clean it, if its dirty your machine can frost up due to the lack of air flow and will not work correctly. Once you clean it, it should be fine.

Spt 65 pint error code p1

According to the manual, this code, P1, means that it is in a defrost cycle. I now have the problem that my unit is in the P1 mode as often as it is in the dehumidification mode.

My Daby dehumidifier will sometimes have coade P1 show up on LED readout and also go to high fan. I have it in basement and set at 50% and low fan. What is the problem? I have to disconnect and reconnect...

don't know what the P1 code means, but maybe your demand of 50% and low fan is not able to be achieved so the unit will increase the CFMs (high speed on fan) to try and reach the 50% humidity level you are asking it to do within a certain time period.

My Whirlpool AD40USL5 Dehumidifier is displaying P1 on the control panel. I am not able to find any information about this in the User Guide that came with my unit. Could you please tell me what this...

Here is a link to the Owners Manual for the model number you listed. However, it does not have a LCD display on the Control Panel, which would show the Error Code P1. This is a Kitchen Aid brand that was manufactured by Whirlpool with the AD40USL5 Model Number. This came directly from Whirlpool's website. Hope it helps you in some way.

Code on Top

I have another of their dehumidifiers, the MDF1-30AE. The first time the P1 came on, the unit stopped, because the filter needed cleaning. Recently P1 came on but the unit didn't turn off, and I had already cleaned the filter, so I phoned Midea customer service at 1-866-646-4332. The man told me P1 means it's in defrost mode and said to just leave it on and the P1 will eventually go away. It's been a while though....

My model is DDR4009EE, after it run for a while, the display changed from RH to "P1",what does "P1" mean?

My Danby DDR657EE shows P1 periodically also. So, I called Danby.

Danby's Consumer Help Line (1-800-263-2629) is always busy. So, I called their General number: 419-425-8627. The receptionist transferred my call to their Service dept. My call was answered in 2 minutes.

The Service Rep. described the following code for my dehumidifier model (DDR657EE):
P1 = Defrosting: the unit will go into Defrost mode periodically to ensure that the parts are working at the right operating temperature. It should be in Defrost (P1) mode for only a brief period of time. If the unit is in Defrost (P1) mode continuously for a couple of hours (or more), then you should call Danby Service for further assistance.

He had no documentation of a P2 code for my model.

He also described other General Codes (applicable to most Danby Dehumidifier/Humidifier models):
E1 = Not enough water
E2 = Not draining
E3 = Water temperature too cool
E4 = Overflow Switch activated
E6 / E7 = Problem with Temperature Sensor

So, if you see P1 periodically (for brief periods), then it would be normal.

Also, here is a link to Danby's FAQ page for Dehumidifiers (which answers some common questions):
https://www.danby.com/faqs.php?cat=12

I hope that helps.

P1 error

Your question needs to be answered in 3 parts:

1) As per the manual for my Danby Dehumidifier (Model DDR657EE), the unit may not turn on immediately when powered On (it may take a several minutes). So, generally, it would be normal in your case.

2) Danby's Consumer Help Line (1-800-263-2629) is always busy. So, I called their General number: 419-425-8627. The receptionist transferred my call to their Service dept. My call was answered in 2 minutes.

So, generally, if you see P1 periodically (for brief periods), then it would be normal.

3) Since your unit keeps running (continuously) and there is no water in the bucket, then you should call Danby ServiceI for additional assistance - it seems defective for this reason.

I hope that helps.
