Hi Mrs Willems from retired Englishman in SW France,
According to my list, AEG Lavamat 8*** Series Onwards C9 stands for 'tacho fault' (monitoring the motor speed) requiring a service engineer's attention I suggest. Sorry ;-0(
If this has assisted and/or clarified the situation for you please consider a 4 thumbs up on our rating.
Thanks and good luck!

To clear a C9 fault code, do the following:-
Turn the dial to OFF.
then press and hold the START button down, whilst at the same time turning the dial from OFF all the way round until you come back to OFF again.
Then release the START button.
This will clear the C9 code.
The code signifies that the 'Engine Coal' is worn out but I've been clearing this code on my LAVATMAT on and off for the last year or so with no issue. Hope this helps! The Engine Coal is like the breaks pads on a car, so should be replaced eventually but being able to clear the code means you can get your clothes out of the drum without having to wait 5 days for an engineer call out! An ex-AEG engineer told me this short cut.
