Tip & How-To about Dryers
Hello,
The most probable thing thats wrong causing the dryer to not start is going to be a blown thermal fuse, when it goes out it cuts power to the motor circuit...do you have a display on the front yet it wont start???? or no display??
If you do have a display yet the dryer wont start it very likely will be the thermal fuse,it fits into the blower housing below where the lint filter fits into inside of the door,or depending on your model it will be in the rear but in any case it will be in the blower housing below where the lint filter fits all be it in the front or rear, To access it to check it remove the small lower front panel or the rear panel if it comes off(if not its going to be in the front) and it will be on the top of the blower housing,to check it measure it for continuity (ohm it out) with zero ohms resistiance.
This is what it looks like in the pictures below, either one of these two styles.
If that turns out to be the problem be sure to take apart the blower asm. and clean all lint from it and also check the venting from the back of the dryer all the way to where it exits the house....since the usual reason the thermal fuse goes out is because of poor airflow because of built up lint/blocked vent.
