Is the outside air temp cold. These generators will backfire if it is real cold and if the propane pressure is low. It is suppose to be 11 to 12 inches of water colume at the generator fuel input. drygwals

U need to make sure that the relay driving ur auto start stay closed all thru the crank cycle.

You will likely need to reference your instruction manual for that specific control panel.

If the starter battery is not taking a charge, then it may have failed and require replacement. It is not uncommon for a battery that sits on standby for long periods of time to eventual fail. Best approach is to contact Kohler direct or one of their service agencies to get the correct replacement battery for the generator system.

this sure sounds as if the low oil cutoff is activating for some reason , look at switch carefully to see any physical dammage (ck oil level as well)

this is a common complaint to these , what it boils down to is allways a fuel problem , if its gasolene then its in the carb if it's nat gas then it's in the regulator/vaporizer you'll have to clean these items to see if that helps . someof those liguid cleaners sometimes works but i find a good dissassembly cleaning to be the best

OC is over crank failed to start. It will normally try 3 times before giving this error. You need to disconnect the battery and remove the starter motor, make sure it is free to move / spin. Either the starter has seized or the engine has siezed. Make sure the engine is free to rotate also, once you remove the starter you will see the engine flywheel there, removing the spark plugs will make it easier to rotate the engine. I would guess it is more the starter.

The 'overcrank' error simply means it tried to start but never actually started. It cranked for an extended period. Check the fuel and starting issues you would normally check to start the engine. check your load wires there probaly reversed. I had the same problem friday. The week before the electrican wired it. did the same cc1 then oc. had a generator company come out it was the wireing. my load and netural were reversed.

How old is the 30RES? unplug the low oil sensor on the radiator and see if it runs, they are notorious for failure and have to be filled in the radiator to the brim. If it runs order a new sensor, I have replaced many of them for this reason, but more often the radiator seems full by dipping finger in, but will always take more coolant. The sensor is mounted so high up in the radiator. I ask the age as newer ones require a signal to be maintained and it isn't just a simple ground if low on coolant, if it has 3 wires then disconnecting for the above test will not work

Over crank is just that too much cranking with a filed to start. Plese check gas pressure and for voltage on the fuel shut off solenoid

Normally fault codes are letters? I am not familiar with that code at all. You may have got the control in some configuration setup code 3P0(X) is for raising and lowering the voltage where X is a number from 1-9 for increase

No it is not typical, you never indicated if you are measuring it under load or not. Repeat that test under 1/4 load and see if they even out.

Check the rotor slip rings for tarnish as it has sat.If they are clean, the rotor may have lost it's magnetism and may need flashing (putting DC power directly on it for approx 3 seconds) with brush wires disconencted POLARITY IS CRITICAL

No you cannot, a 60HZ unit is designed to run (and the controller expects to see 60HZ) RPMS 1800 for a 4 pole rotor and 3600RPM for a 2 pole. Slowing engine speed down to 1500RPM the controlelr would see it as under frequency

You must first disconnect ALL the stator wires to prevent a bad reading. You MUST have a good meter, cheap ones will not do. Put the meter on Ohms and put the probes together, note reading (this is the resisitance of the meter wires and this reading will need deductiong from the test readings). You will need a service manual to know what that actual values should be at what ambient temp. They are normally very low less than 1 ohm so cheap meters won't read. Check each wire with one lead and the other to the stator metal ground. You should have ZERO any value here is a short. Then check between each pair and read the value (many stators have multi windings T1,T2, Q1 Q2, B1 B2 etc, so you need to make sure you measure across each pair.. Generally values are 1 ohm or less
