Gently turn the needel valves all the way in and the back them out 1 and 1/2 turns each. Then you you make adjust ments depending on how the saw runs. If it runs fine at idel the low jet is fine. If it does not run at high speed adjust the hi jet.

Could be stuff inside the float bowl holding the float OPEN and flooding it. That IS a weird symptom. Possible coil failure.Is there spark after it dies? Will it re-start? Was the spark plug wet with fuel?

check to see if in line fuel shut off valve is open.If so,sounds like carb is gummed up.

Was it smoking before you changed oil? Did it start as soon as you changed the oil or did it start smoking a few days later? Check the oil level again... Ethanol gas kills these Needle valves in the carburetor allowing gas to run through the carb, into the cylinders and down to the Crankcase.

I have the same problem. One time this happened and it restarted after a few hours and worked fine for 5 more cuts over a couple of months time. Now again it quit mid cut of my yard and would not restart. When trying to start it would fire for a few seconds and than shut off again. I wated a week to try it again and now it does nto fire at all. This is about a year old mower with only about 10-15 hours of total use.

You could also have an overused spring on the carb the connects to the govenor arm. Take the spring off and see how worn out it is.

Take off the air filter and inspect lever to see if it got bent and or something blocking movement inside or outside the carb.

Clean your carb real good you will be amazed!!!!!!!!
