ok I have the best solution for you you need to do the follow in order to solve this problem ok My name is Juan and I am a ps3' proff so don't worry this is fixable in a portable usb card reader install the newer ps3 update go to sony and in your usb created a folder with the name PS3 in capital letters and inside this folder created another folder with the name UPDATE and download the update on this folder once you have the update ready connect the usb storage device to your ps3 turn the ps3 on and press the PS logo on your ps3 control then on the next screen press STAR and SELECT at the same time and the ps3 is going to start looking for the update follow the instactions and then some model on the next screen you have to press again SELECT and START at the same time but this time hold them for 5 seconds and the update will start after the update finish it will start normally if you have problems doing this call me at 706 529-0579 and ask for juan thanks

Most of the time this error has to do with your internet connection. I would suggest you power off you PS3, unplug the power from your router for about a minute, plug it back in and give it a couple of minutes to boot up. Power up your PS3 and try your purchase again. This solves the problem most of the time so give it a try. Take care and good luck!

that error code means its having trouble signing into playstation online. check your router settings, and your network settings on the ps3.
hardwire the internet connection if at all possible.

i have same problem i downloaded map pack 1 and 2 ages ago and i stoped playin cod5, i started again last night and my map packs seem to have dissapeared so i downloaded them again from previous downloads for free and i download in background fine i get to the little bubble one where i need to save it, it starts goes through to 100% then says ----- an error occurred during the install operation. (80029564) CAN ANYONE HELP?

Since you had the system restored to the original settings, chances are the video settings output of the PS3 is in analog output. You can try hooking it up to your standard definition TV to see if there are visuals if it does it means that your system is all good and if everything elses fails, you might want to replace your HDMI cable with a new one.

Thats the Yellow light of death. Look it up and find out if you can fix it.. is your ps3 still under warranty? Because if it is, theres still hope of taking it back instead of paying $150 or having a refurbished model..

There is a worldwide issue which Sony are fully aware of which is affecting
all old model PS3's, The new slimline PS3's are not affected.

This is a worldwide problem which has only struck recently, sony hope to repair it within 24hours and release a new update. They say it may damage your system to play it during this time but I think games where you can't gain trophys shouldn't do any harm.

This is an overheating problem. move your ps3 away from carpet, heat-making thing, and 4 inches away from EVERYTHING.

If there is a yellow light involved somewhere, then ig that^^^ and read this:

You have the Yellow light of death. The YLOD is the Red Rings of Death, except for the PS3.

I recommend Wiredextreme.com to service your system (if it's out of warranty). About half the price of a Sony repair and you get YOUR system back, unlike when you send it to Sony where you get some other random refurbished system. Oh, and if you send your system in to Sony, you will get a different copy of the game that is stuck in your system packaged separately and later than when you will get your system back from Sony.

take it back to the dealer who sold it you. if its off warenty just tell them about the _ sales of goods act _ just say this isnt my falt and i do not expect that my ps3 just stop working when i havent done anything bad to it.

the ps3 has a self over heat over ride which turns the ps3 off when getting too hot. if you left it on for long periods of time that might be the problem , if the sensor for the heat is falty that might be the problem or your ps3 might just need cleaning. EG/ to clean just get a vacume and **** all the dust out from the vents on tom and side
