Empty hatch on canister will not open

Sometimes on mine, the red clip that's at bottom of canister doesn't always click back into place, so when you press the red button, it just slides out missing the catch. How i resolve this i pressed down the red button so the clip was sticking out, then with my thumb pressed it in, and it clicked back into place, now been fine with each empty.

How to stretch the dyson ball vacuum hose

Hi there,I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your Dyson. Due to the machine's very powerful suction, it's normal to experience a certain amount of resistance from the hose in use. However, you may find that stretching out the hose to it's fullest extent with the machine switched off, while someone else holds the machine in place, helps loosen it up a little. If you've tried this and are still concerned, please get in touch with us directly so we can provide further assistance. You can call us free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).Best wishes,Jack Dyson Online Customer Supporthttp://www.dyson.com

I have a dyson roller

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial. There are a number of reasons why your brush roller has stopped moving. General maintenance to your vacuum is crucial and will help it work at peak performance. First things first lets focus on the brush roller. Unplug the vacuum and turn it on its side. Look for any noticeable clumps of debris or hair strands that may be caught in the brush roller. Remove these obstructions, probably best to do so with a scissor if it's hair or long pieces of carpet fibers. After removing the debris try manually rotating the brush roller to uncover other hidden clogs. Another thing to take note of is the condition of the bristles on the roll itself. Are they loose or worn down? These are signs that your brush roller is in need of replacing. While checking out your brush roll you might as well take a look at your vacuums belt. Your belt should be replaced about every three months. After regular usage, the belt will stretch out, lessening the tension on the brush roller. Lesser tension diminishes the brush roller's turn rate and speed. If the belt feels loose then it certainly is affecting your vacuums suction as well as your brush roll not moving at all. I cleaned the brush head to my Dyson 24 and all was well but now the brush roller does not spin. Have pushed reset button several times. Can feel it vibrate but not engage.

The belt and clutch are probably worn or broken. Instead of a normal brush roller belt like most vacuums have, Dyson designed these with a plastic clutch between the motor and brush roller, so you can turn the brush off for hard surfaces. The belt from the motor to the clutch is replaceable, but it is the belt least likely to wear out or break. The belt to the brush roller, which is the one that takes all the beating and encounters all the dirt and grit is plastic welded into the clutch and cannot be replaced. You have to replace the entire clutch when that belt goes. On a normal vacuum, this is a $3.00 to $5.00 repair. On a Dyson, the part is around $25.00 retail, and you have to tear half the vacuum apart to get to it. You don't need much in the way of tools to repair it, as most of the vacuum simply snaps together, although you have to take care that you don't break the plastic parts getting them apart. You do need a torx screwdriver to remove the clutch housing. I've done two of these in the last week, both with the same issue.

Dyson DC 25. The roller brush will not engage. What can I do.

It may need a new belt, a new power nozzle motor or the whole nozzle housing needs replaced. It also could be the power nozzle is not getting power from the vacuum which could be a short or bad switch. There are many areas that one or more could be causing the problem. First determine if the problem is in the power nozzle itself or the vacuum then eliminate the possible causes one at a time until you determine the cause. It's much more difficult to find the cause if there is more than one issue causing the problem.

Hi the Motorised Head isn't turning has the Motorised Head gone

It could be the motor of the powerhead, it could be the power head isn't getting power from the vacuum. You will need to troubleshoot all these areas to determine what the problem is.
