For Office 2013First unhide the hidden files in explorer then open c:/MSOCache when you open this folder it will ask for permission press ok to view. The error is because the permission is set to no in this folder, when you launch setup the first it creates this backup msocache for future installation that u dont do at first time, once you will open this folder then launch setup it will work.I have done this ThanksTariq

Go to "My Computer" and navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\
Take a look around for the powerpoint icon. It will be called POWERPNT.exe

Pleas click start, click all programs and you will find Microsoft PowerPoint shortcut.

Make sure MS Office Outlook is not running.

Your computer might be using caching. Can you tell me how much RAM you have on your computer? If you have 2GB of RAM i would recommend disabling the caching. This slows down the system quiet a bit (since it uses miliseconds instead of nanoseconds). Your computer is as fast as the slowest component.  I would also suggest defragging the drive.

You have a couple of options to fix this. The first that I'm aware of is the easiest. Copy the contents of the CD to a folder on the Hard Drive, and install from the Hard Drive.

The second is not so easy. It's takes a lot of time. But, just in case option 1) fails HERE's option 2.

Provided MS word has not been un-installed.
You may be missing just the icons.

You can use the built in search and look for MSWORD.exe
If memory serves me this is the file name of the executable.

Have you tried simply opening another word document from explorer?
If MS Word has not been un-installed the program should start right up.

Everything Displays both files and directories.
Pleasure to work with and highly recommend especially for lost files.

Excellent alternate to MS word is OpenOffice Best of no cost and includes a full office package. And yes converts from and too MS office file formats.

First do this
To resolve this behavior, start the Setup program for Office. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Insert the Microsoft Office 2003 CD in your CD drive or DVD drive.
2. If the Setup program does not start automatically, locate the Setup.exe file on the CD, and then double-click the file to start Setup.
3. After the Setup window appears, cancel Setup, and then respond to the prompts to exit Setup.

Note You do not have to complete the Setup program. Setup fixes the error condition when it is first invoked.
