I cannot seem to unlock my 8820 ( sim out ) It keeps asking for an unlocking number, I have tried a soft reset, but no joy, and it seems you have to go into the menu to do a hard reset, but cannot get any further than the pin number request.

If you have entered a wrong pin number three times the phone will ask you for a PUK number. The PUK code is generally eight digit number and is an unlocking code which helps you to unlock the phone and use it. If you enter a wrong PUK number 10 times than you simcard gets rejected. Then you will have to buy a new simcard. It might happen that your phone might ask you for PUK2 after you enter your PUK number. You can find the PUK code is in your SIM card documentation Starter Pack. If you do not have this then contact your phone service provider. Your cell phone service provider can give you the PUK code once they have confirmed your identity to prevent any stolen SIM access.

Do a battery pull and remove any installed memory card and then try again. Will help

From your description, sounds like a hardware problem.

My suggestion would be to return the unit for a replacement, since it is only a month old.

I've had phones that have been problematic and wouldn't work correctly and my provider replaced them.

Hi! I have exactly the same problem! My BB curve died last Sunday. I bought a new battery, but it drained it again today.. I have been really careful with the phone and it is relatively new, so I cannot explain why this happens! Please let me know what you did with yours! Thank you beforehand!

What are you using to charge it -- the AC adapter (wall charger) or the car charger? Try using the other one and see if it will charge that way -- if it will, the problem is whichever adapter won't charge it. If neither will, then maybe you have a problem with the battery.

If you don't have a car charger, you can also try charging it from your computer by using a USB cable.
