Honeywell ER150B Air Conditioner Questions & Answers
Central air does not kick in.
It sounds like you have a bad capacitor to the compressor. The humming noise is the compressor not starting up but is trying. It is either the capacitor or the compressor form your description. If you had a lightning storm or power surge about the time this happened it is most likely a bad capacitor. You can have the capacitor tested to see. Disconnect power before working on unit!

My duted air conditioning started blowing hot air
Sounds as if the compressor has gone bad. The blowing of hot air and then the fuse blowing lets you know the compressor is pulling a lot of amps causing the fuse to blow and no cold air could mean the compressor is locked up and therefore you need a new compressor.

ON THE UNIT OUTSIDE I
Hi, if the button has tripped, this is normally due to a problem, as this is a safety. But it may also be that the button its self is faulty if the unit is running properly. You must make sure you have no other problems going on such as high head pressure in system by washing out the condenser coil, checking motors, looking over the electric connections for any signs of burned spots ect. You can just simply take the wiring at the reset button and bypass it to run, but if you have a problem you are unaware of, this will cause a problem. What I would do is write down your model and serial numbers, kill power to unit...., remove this reset and take it to any retail appliance parts house to get one that will take its place. Just about any kind will work if the voltage is correct and amperage, even if it will not fit the hole or not. You can mount it any where inside out of the weather, just make sure you draw a diagram when removing it so you will remember how it goes back. If the new one trips right away, you indeed have a problem in the unit and will need to find it. You can do this by process of elimination to see when it holds when you disconnect a componant. Please rate me on my help to you, and I will help you until the problem is solved.Shastalaker7A/C, & Heating Contractor
