It has possibly decided to close down. Some monitors have a power shutdown as power saver of two or more levels. It may wake up from pushing a button on the monitor. Check on the screen settings to see if monitor can stopped doing this. I had a monitor that did this years ago, long since replaced.

Hello,That is the correct value. That resistor just gets very hot and discolors the PC board around where it is soldered. You should be able to remove all of the old solder and scrape the resistor leg to get it bright, resolder the leg to the copper pad and you should be good to go.

Most likely the capacitors on the power board have failed. I had the same problem and replaced (2) 1000 mfd/25 volt and (3) 220 mfd/25volt capacitors. Problem fixed! I used Radio Shack #272-1032 and #272-1029 capacitors.

i also have a 19" westinghouse monitor the screen on mine goes black i just turn the monitor of then back on the problem is it's overheating and from what i understand it's caused by faulty or worn capacitors the ones that are bad are vented on top so it's easy to tell the bad ones. you can see what they look like on line!

It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitors will blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of he monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix he problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts,replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and - connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the same way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping. If your problem is not the capacitors then it would be the backlights and that is much more difficult to replace.

Let find out first if it is the powered speakers in the monitor problem or in the PC sound card problem.
Feed the monitor with sound source such as MP3 player to see if you do get the sound, if not, more likely to be bad speaker amps circuits problem which will not be worth putting the money to have it repair since you can spend the repair money on a good set of power speakers that will you so much better sound than the monitor built-in speakers about the size of a quarter.

In that case the problem is now with the inverters or the connections to the CCFL tubes. You need to test it again, and this time focus on the inverters and their connections.

Yes, it is, it is just the picture board that is faulty. since the power led or button is on, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity or any service center to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.

Did you turn up the both (at the PC Audio control panel and at the Monitor control panel) volumes up?
Try using MP3 player or any audio sound sources feeding the monitor audio input to see what happen also.

If the screen is all white glow and no pictures, it means the LCD panel is not getting the 5vdc for the LCD controller board, it can be as simple as the LCD panel connector came loose or you do have the 5vdc supply. hi this could be due to the fact that the resolution is set incorectly on the other computer, try lowering it to the minimum at first then increase the resolution and see what happens...hope this helped
