Check the settings in your Windows Media player under RIP for MP3 out put. Start by right clicking out next to Now Playing, this will bring up a context menu, look for -> Tools -> Options -> Rip music tab set up your out put to MP3 and the Folder you want to put it all in. Next put in a cd you want to rip to MP3 and let it do it's thing. Next hook up your MP3 player to your computer, and finding your music folder under windows explorer. Copy the files and drag them on to your player into a music folder. Done, go play.

I can confirm that the following method works for me (finally):

1. Download and install Mp3tag (I'm using v. 2.48)
2. "Change" or "Add" the directory in which the mp3s reside

3. Make certain you have data for "Artist", "Album Artist", and "Album" (fill in if needed)
4. Select all mp3s and click the "Save" icon (or right-click them and choose "Save tag")
5. Transfer back to your Sansa device

Find the MP3 player in the device manager, delete it, then plug it in again and see if Windows recognizes it and reinstall the drivers properly.
If on the second try windows does not install the device drivers properly, find it in the device manager right click on it and click update drivers

Device is not being recognized and is apparently incompatible with your XP OS installation.

your mp3 should have come with a software cd. I had a sense mp3 and had to load program to my pc to add music.

Chrome book and Linux do not generally support MTP mode used by MP3 players. You need to switch to MSC mode using the m240 settings menu, See: http://mp3support.sandisk.com/downloads/um/sansa-m200-um.pdf on page 30.

To play back a voice recording, you will need to do the following steps after turning on the player. Press Power/Menu briefly to get the software menu. Press the Repeat/A-B/Down button to highlight the line Play Music and press Select to enter the play back sub-menu. Press the Down button again to go to the line Recordings and press Select again. Use the Down button to highlight a particular voice recording and press Select to start playing the recording. although your mp3 player may not officially be imac compatible, it should still plug in and be recognized by your imac just fine, you just wont be able to use any software that may or may not come with the mp3 player, however given that its not a zune (microsoft product) and that its not an ipod, it should work perfectly fine, and you should be able to simply drag and drop your music onto the mp3 player when it is recognized by your imac. just be sure to copy the files over to it while its plugged in by using the file browser of your mac.

Hi I have just bought a Sandisk Sansa M250, we loaded som music on it and it lasted 2 hours, then it the message came "Not enough space for music DB please free 8 MB". I couldnt even go in to the menu. I contakted Sandisk.com and 24 hours after they came up with an answer. If it's currently frozen, hold down the power button for 20 seconds in order to soft reset it. Let's try to format the player (THIS WILL ERASE ALL FILES FROM THE PLAYER). Plug it into your computer, then open My Computer, right-click the drive associated with the player, and choose Format. It may give you a choice of file system, if so, choose FAT (it may only let you choose FAT32, which is fine). Now click on Start and it should format the player. Unplug Sansa from USB, hit the Menu button on the side, go in to settings, then go to USB settings. Chnage setting from MSC to Auto Dectectg. This shoud fix it. When you plug the USB back in it will show MTP instead of MSC.

I think your MP3 player's battery has gone old so it doesnt hold battery try changing it or contact SanDisk

It has two male prongs on it 3.5 one on either side and plug it in and you should be good to go
