C5 is showing
C5 generally indicates a motor fault, specifically overheating. things that might make motors overheat are worn bearings and restricted ventilation

I have a recurrent C9 error code on my AEG 88840
Hi,
The fault code indicates a motor fault.
Unplug the appliance from the wall socket before beginning.
Check the carbon brushes in the motor, this is the most common cause of the fault.
There is one carbon brush either side of the rear of the motor.
You
will have to take the motor out to check them, unless you are very
nimble and can do it from underneath while the machine is tipped back 45
degrees.
You'll probably find the carbon brushes are worn out.
If you can identify them from the pictures on Ebay, you'll be able to order them and save money on them too.
http://shop.ebay.co.uk/items/?_nkw=aeg+carbon+brush&_sacat=0&_fromfsb=&_trksid=m270.l1313&_odkw=lav72620&_osacat=0
If you email the seller they should be able to tell you which ones fit your model.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Lavalogic 1620 fails to come on - there is power
I also have problems with AEG Lavalogic 1600. It is caused by the control knob and the poor contacts. One service repair person fixed it and lasted 1 month. Then the problem reappeared. Now, I turn on the knob and the machine does not turn on, but I push lightly the button, not to a full path, just to cause a contact and it starts.

WHAT IS E10 PROBLEM
Hello,
E10 relates to low water pressure normally or a fault with the inlet valves. You can check by turning off the water and taking off the hoses at the valve and check if the little filter is clogged, older machines have hot and cold water newer only cold.if they are ok then check at the other end of the hoses you may find a small very fine mesh filter come seal inside the nut of the hose be very careful if you remove them as they can get damaged, remove and rinse under tap and scrub with nail brush. If all clean make sure that the hoses have not been kinked and stopping the supply. An easy way to check if pressure is good is to put your thumb over end of cold supply and switch on over a container if you can hold your thumb on easily pressure is not good if you get wet then its ok.(not very scientific I know but simple).IF there is still a problem then you will have to check each solenoid on the valves with a meter for contniuity these coils can burn out but are quite easy to replace as long as the the mechanical part of the valve is ok.Normally you can only buy them as a complete package.Check these out and hopefully it was helpful.
Good Luck.

VERY NOISEY WHEN SPINNING
The best way to check is to remove the belt, and spin the drum by hand.
If it feels rough or is rumbling, then the main bearings have failed.

Water will not drain properly leaving a very wet
Check two things:
Clean your strainer, located behind the kick panel at the lower front of the machine. It will be in between the drum and the pump, and will have a lid that unscrews.
Check your Drain Hose: The easiest way is to remove it from the house drain, and empty it into a bucket. If at all possible, point it outside and run a cycle with fresh water only.
The strainer will probably fix you up, and usually makes the clothes smell better too.
Best regards, --W/D-- please feel free to rate this solution..thanx!
