Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Sorry but I do not know your particular machine BUT I would suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters. The motor is unable to drain all of the water in the allotted time.
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and held in by a round cover/knob.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!

It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

I have the same problem and the manual says that it is a spin problem.
Check your outlet hose is not kinked or partially blocked. Also check the filter, bottom left at front, to ensure impeller spinning OK and no blockages.
After that, sorry but I'm lost as well.

Sorry- my wife is calling but here is a quick probable fix- the fabric softener drawer normally has some sort of cover, which needs to be removed, and underneath is a pipe/tube down which the softener and water mix siphons. This tube gets blocked by gunge- a mix of powder and softener. Ours does!
It has to be completely clear.

E40 indicates the doors not closed properly. Sometimes it can be the lock itself or the main control board.

you have a hole in the rubber boot seal and need to change it,also i've seen a buildup of detergent and hair stuck on the bottom side of the front door,when the door is closed the water was traveling down the pieces of hair and leaking through the bottom of the door,but if it's leaking under where the pump is and it's not the pump or hoses it's the boot seal.open the door and pull open the boot seal and run your fingers all around until you find the hole

Hi, . according to your washer problem i m writing solution ,please read and follow it:-

1. Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
   
2. check out this following options one by one to locate the fault in your machine.
   
3. 1)Check for drum bearing failure if your washing machine is noisy on the spin cycle. Drum bearing failure is common when the bearing seals start allowing water to enter. You can take the belt off and spin the drum by hand, and if the drum rumbles, replace the bearings.2)Turn the drum by hand and listen for loud noises. If the drum itself is split or the 'spider' is corroded, broken or has come apart from the back of the drum it will create a loud noise on every turn of the drum. (When the bearings have gone bad, the noise is constant the entire time the drum is spinning.)3)Look for obvious dents and creases in the drum or look for coins or small objects stuck inside the tub underneath the drum when a horrendous noise is made while clothes are in the tub.4)Clear thewater pumpfrom obstructions like coins or small objects when a noise occurs while the washing machine is emptying water.5)Remove the sump hose and look for bra wires if you hear a light scraping noise when the drum is turned by hand. You can also check to make sure a wire isn't poking out of one of the holes in the drum. In this case, you can pull the wire out easily with pliers.6)Take the belt off and run the motor alone if you hear a high pitched squealing noise to check for motor bearing damage or wear. If you still hear the noise without the belt, it's the motor bearing.

Hi, the C9 means that there is a problem with the motor. The problem is that this error can mean a number of things could be wrong. The brushes need replacing, the tachometer is faulty, the motor itself is faulty or the controller is broken. But basically, replacing the brushes (they seemed worn) and then pressing start button first then turn the program selector to the left always clear of the code and resolve the problem, but if it does not solve it, then you have now start checking the motor for fault, a broken controller or faulty tachometer to fix the problem.

You can also try resetting the AEG Lavamant washer first before proceeding to any repair by doing this..

• Hold in the Pre-wash & soaking buttons TOGETHER.
• At the same time, turn the knob clockwise from the OFF position, to "Short Spin". All the LEDS light up.
• Turn the knob anti-clockwise to "energy saving".
• Machine is reset and the door release clicks.

Switch your machine off and then back on again. It will clear the C9 code, although it may return again. Then you will have to follow my first advice of replacing the brush.

I have the same problem. I think it may be the microprocessor unit - fist check no errors come up on the display and that the lint filter is clean. The microprocessor is very expensive and I am considering buying a new machine due to the prohibitive cost of spare parts. The only other option would be to get a second hand unit and take out the processor unit from there and swap it with the ? faulty unit.

I have the same problem with my machine. Whatever program I select, the machine runs fine until it reaches 54 mins of the cycle remaining. To overcome the problem just to select a cycle that will not stop mid cycle, select a program which is less than 54 mins. I think the 40 degrees and quick wash select is the one to run with. The cycle is 45 mins, obviously less that 54 mins. The LED timer will display the cycle time. No problems with this cycle whatsoever. Not the total solution, but at least you're able to complete a cycle. After it's completed, I also run the spin program at 1200rpm. I hope this helps.

Check the voltage to the drain pump, if present the pump is not working and must be repaired , cleaned and set back.
if there is no supply to the drain valve/pump, the program controller is faulty.
