AEG Lavamat 16810 Front Load Washer/Dryer - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
How To reset EFO code
Hi. EF0 is suggesting an internal leak which operates a float switch inside the cabinet at the base. It could be a leak (split door seal, hose, etc) or over-foaming causing a momentary leak. Dry the base and inspect. A blocked condenser on the dryer can cause the drum to overfill on wash. I have also witnessed the code come up when the drain pump is jammed..odd as this should be E20. If it drains ok ignore that!.

Water in the Softerner compartment
The softener drawer cover is designed to siphon out most of the water that runs into the drawer so, when the wash is over, the drawer should always be nearly empty. Unclip and take out the detergent drawer, unclip the softener cover and fill the softener tray with water. Clip the softener cover back on and the water should run out immediately. If it doesn't then a small blockage in any of the 3 pipes in the cover can completely stop the siphon action. Cleaning them out is generally all that's needed.

Lavamat?! Where in the *&%^ is this machine from? Yugoslavia! I'm guessing it will not allow water IN Because only the Spin (Centrifuge) cycle works?! So if that is so you need your water inlet valves replaced, there are Two. Even in machines named after a Bar of Soap! If you need further help, reach me via phone at

Washing machine not filling
Check the screens at the point where your water hoses connect to the washer. These often get clogged with calcium. A simple vinegar soak or cleaning with a brush will often solve this problem
1. Turn off the water supply at the valve
2 Place a towel or bucket behind the washing machine to catch remaining water coming from the removed hose
3. See if the screen (often cone shaped) is inside the washer side or the hose itself.
Remove the screen, clean it, and replace.
I hope this works.

Machine starts but timer unit is not fuctioning
See if you can remove the timer motor and test it. If it doesn't work, check Repairclinic.com for a motor or a new timer.
Good problem description, most folks don't give us good clues.

AEG Lavamat 16810
E10 is related to water flow and if it isn't due to the 3-way valve being defective there's another common point to check. The back and side cover needs to be removed to get at the condenser that, over time, can fill with fluff and stop the hot air from circulating. It and its connecting pipes can be unclipped and cleaned out.

How to clean your washing machine
You could run a 90deg wash with nothing in the machine then with a damp cloth wipe in and around the door seal. (A lot of gunk gathers in the door seal). Clean out your filter in front of the machine as wel.
Also keep an eye in the shops for a washing machine cleaner which u put into the machine on an empty load usually on a wash above 60deg

HOW DO I REMOVE AND STOP FLUFF
Hi Peter from retired Englishman in SW France,
(pre-typed as this is a common problem!)
Following are my complete and hopefully 'coverall' pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

I need the config code
Hi.
The code is not associated with the model, but with the board PCN. The codes below are all for AEG Lavamat, but work with different boards.
Try the codes below. If none of them works try giving me the part pcn and the washer pcn (written on service tag).
