I have an XM-2150GSX 760watt

If you are hooking 'blue wire' (remote turn on for amp) to the power antenna wire (usually also blue) from the radio that could be your problem since the antenna only gets power when the radio is used

try using the switched 12 volt wire you used to connect your stereo power

i will assume all other wiring is correct and if so this should fix your issue - if not write me back with as many details as you can about how you have things wired and i will try to help more

good luck!!

My xploid amp blows the

It sounds like you have the levels improperly matched or the wiring to the sub woofers making an improper impedance match. Make sure you are not overdriving the amp by running the levels lower, or check if you need to rewire the speakers to get the right ohmic value at the amp. A good resource for sub woofer wiring can be found at this web site:

My amp was working good and i didnt use like for

if it turns red its a protection light you most likely got the ohms wired wrong on the speakers and the amp is going into protect mode so you dont fry it or the subs

Overcurrent lights comes on whenever my amp is on

this can only mean 2 things, either your over working the amp, which means your amp is trying to push power that it don't have, and it's getting hot which is known as thermal mode. and the other reason can be that make sure amp rms. matches the rms. of your subs.

HAVE KIKCER L7 WHEN HOOKED UP TO AMP IT DOESNT DO

lets do some diagnosis.. if it's possible, try hooking another known good sub up to the amp and see if that works. if it doesnt, it's an issue with your amp. if it does work though, it's an issue with your sub. or the wiring. if it's a dual voice coil sub, make sure you've got both positives hooked up to positive from the amp, and both negatives hooked up to negative from the amp. if you've accidently got positive from the amp going to positive of one voice coil then to the negative of the other, and the negative from the amp going to the negative of one voice coil then to the positive of the other, the voice coils will be pushing against eachother cancelling eachother's movements out. and this will fry the sub. OR the sub is already fried.

Does the amp power up? Did you knock the fuse loose with a deer hoof? Sorry couldn't resist that. Check all of your wiring with an ohm meter especially your speaker cables. Check for DV voltage at the power input to the amp and also the remote turn on. If you get voltage there try turning the amp on and measuring the AC output voltage of your amp from plus to minus. (crank the volume up) That will also tell you if your amp is functioning. Verify signal to the amp. If you have a portable stereo with aux inputs drag it out to your car and plug your RCA into it. If you get sound to your portable stereo you have signal. You can't reliably measure the AC voltage with a meter because it is so low, if you had a scope that would work. Test your subs on your home stereo, (verify impedance first). These are just some ways to divide and conquer good luck man!

I have Kicker ZX 650 4 channel amplifier and 4 DB

As far as I am aware you need to get 2 ohm speakers. I run a 4 ohm subwear as the Alpine Type R sub is 2 ohms. I'm not 100% on this though but you may get around it by bridging your speakers by connecting both speakers to the amp as normal but swapping the speakers negatives around! That may cause the amp to run as if only at 2 ohms. Hope this helped!

Can the sony xplod 1000watt amp be bridged for

Hello,
This amplifier can only be bridged for a single subwoofer with an output rating of 380 watts bridged. The amp is not rated for 1000 watts.
The burping noise you here is the electronic switch discharging power off on the large capacitor that are used in high performance amplifiers. Regards, rcampsr

How to hook it up to system

Hello www_mitzjohn,

I'd definitely use another amp.

The 2-channel Sony is well suited for powering the 6X9's but a monoblock would be better for the subs. The different types of speakers running from the same channel will not sound very good and likely it'll be impossible to get the impedances to match.

You'll want to set the Sony to send higher frequencies to the 6X9's, but not to the subs. You can't adjust the channels individually. So, just connect each 6X9 to one channel of the Sony and use a monoblock subwoofer amp for the subs.

Hope this helps.

Amplifier turns on but not the subwoofer?

Hello thedj3214,

You can find the color codes for a 1999 Buick Regal here. There is no dedicated amp remote wire. Neither is there a power antenna wire.

You could use the 12V "switched lead (yellow) from the radio or any switched 12V lead directly from the vehicle fuse box. I'd wire it through a dash mounted toggle switch so as to be able to turn the amp on and off manually.

The Sony 2150GSX is a 2-channel amp with the speaker terminals on either side. You do not want to ground the subwoofer itself, only the ground terminal should be connected to bare metal on the vehicle chassis or body as close to the amp as possible. The ground wire does not need to be run to the negative battery terminal.

A ground on one of the speaker leads will probably cause the amp not to power up. A ground on a speaker wire usually activates the amps protection circuit, causing it to not operate until the fault is corrected.

Hope this helps.
