Cannot remove the brass nut for separator on Rainbow Canister Wet/Dry Vacuum.

Janice and Momodo. Use a wrench or pliers to remove the nut. Before you replace it, put Vaseline on the threads. It will be much easier to remove next time.

Motor seemed to get hot while vacuuming

There probably is a locked up bearing. It is not a good idea to try to keep trying to run the unit. It will only cause further damage.

MY RAINBOW VACUUM HAS LOST SUCTION POWER AND i

Your Rainbow E series has lost suction power, because you need a new hepa filter, ot your water basin gasket is messed up, or the center motor gasket is messed up or out of position.

Make sure your water basin is not cracked or broken, also.

If you have any more questions let me know. I am a Rainbow seller, and a Rainbow expert also.

Thank you,

Could be switch, cord or motor. If the switch has alot of play it is usually bad. Check cord for damage.

Rainbow vacuum power head stops

Check bearings on beater bar and stem on motor. Use your finger to make sure they all roll smoothly and if they are very noisey. If any of these are bad the unit will shut down.

My e-2 vacuum runs very loud and smell like it's burning.

You may have damaged a bearing or bearing housing and that could be causing the motor armature and field to rub together which in turn causes the motor to draw a significantly increased current to overcome the friction. It could be a simple fix if it is a bearing but if it is the housing then it is likely toast. I used to repair motors years ago and the cost then was not bad. However if the motor is heat damaged, as happened to my power rack last year, it was cheaper to buy a new one than replace the motor. A burned out motor is not worth repairing these days.
