GETTING AN ERROR MESSAGE OF FL, WHAT DOES THIS

This means that your Washer has somehow Over Filled with water and will "FL"ood if it does not drain the excess water:

It should also be beeping every 10 seconds and the pump should start to empty some water to rectify the issue.
Restart the machine machine as required or push the overfill reset switch.
To avoid flooding, you might need to temporarily shut the water supply if water continues to flow in the machine while the "FL" code is displayed.
Hope it helps let me know how you go.

Dryer won't start

As silly as this seems, did you make sure the door is completely closed. This is a common problem when drying tennis shoes. One time when I was living in an apt. complex, I went to check on my laundry, and my shoes were lying on the floor (with a couple of other fabrics). I then stood by and watched the remainder of the cycle, and next thing you know - the door opens up and throws out my shoes. Never would've believed it unless I seen it with my own eyes. I would turn everything off, and then go through your regular routine. If this doesn't work, feel free to contact me - and we can go to Plan B...:) Good Luck to you, Jim

Kenmore elite washer model 21082000, won't

The FL error code means:
Flood Condition:
FL flashes if any overfill condition occurs. This condition occurs when excessive water in the tub causes the overfill switch to trip. The control must realize that the trip was due to an overfill condition instead of a suds lack condition in order for FL to be displayed

With an overfill condition, the beeper repeats a warning every 10 seconds with no time-out. The pump is cycled in drain mode for 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off until the overfill switch resets or power is discontinued to the unit.

Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.

This problem I see on these are the water pumps getting clogged with lint or other things, causing the pump not to pump all of the water out at times.

There is a check "valve" in the drain assembly that seems to sometimes cause problems with the FL error code. You can remove this piece, and might avoid changing the pump.

How do i remove the agitator i have cloth binded

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number (###.######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

See the following:

Washer will overfill on small load and large

If this happens only on small load cycle , then it can be a faulty timer board.

however check also the water level switch, when there is overfilling this part is always the first suspect.

Washer stuck in cycles

If you suspect you have a defective timer it can easily be replaced by performing the following steps:

1. Unplug washing machine... and pull out the timer knob. Some knobs have a removeable center cap and hidden screw. Some are simply slip-fit. Remove the knob.

2. Remove console. This can be accomplished in one of two ways depending on which type of console you have.

a. If the console has removable end caps, the caps lift off by prying on the top from the back of the washer.
The cap will pull off towards you as you are facing the unit from the front of the washer.
There will be a screw under each end cap that you will need to remove.

b. If the console does not have removable end caps, you will need to slide a putty knife under the front corner of each side and push in while lifting up.
There is a retaining clip under each side that has to be released.

3. Once the console has been released it will lift up and fold back over the back of the washer in its resting position. Use care not to stress the small plastic hinges that hold it on. They can break easily.

4. Disconnect all power plugs and remove the timer's mounting screws.

5. Reinstall reverse of removal.

No cooling and freezing on my Kenmore Elite

It appears your main controller has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Calypso kenmore wash motion "kenmore elite" model # 110.21082000

very possible that you do indeed have a pump issue, try clearing the lint out if it, there is a mew pump/motor assy, its one piece, redesigned with a larger impeller and less room for lint to get **** in, if your pump clips into place onto the motor assy you have the older model. you can still pop off the hoses, and check for lint build up..... the reason it faults as an off bal is that it tries to spin with too much water in drum and throes itself off bal, def a related problem

Water drainage problem

I continued to push the set delay and end of cycle buttons, twice. Then I pushed the jeans cycle button and let it run its course. After doing that twice, it drained the drum and I tried to start a new cycle for washing, which worked. Yea!

Kemore elite 21082

It certainly does sound like the main control, this is the most common part (electronically speaking) also there is the display board(s) directly behind the control panel. This PC relays user inputs to CCU (located on top of washer ---middle rear). I havent replaced a faulty display board yet out of the 50+ ive serviced. Doesnt mean its not bad. If you have any questions feel free....

Calypso kenmore elite - problems trying to wash a load

This is usually a symptom of a bad motor control board which located under the console. I had the same problem. You can open the console by removing the three screws in the back and lifting from the rear first. The console will pop off. In addition, if you look along washer top front edge in the seam there is a retaining clip about 2 inches in from each side. Using a putty knife, push in on each clip while lifting and the top should pop up. There will be a tech sheet affixed to the front wall of the washer between the wash tub and case. This tech sheet will give you all the guidance necessary on how to perform tests to prove whether or not the motor controller is at fault, or if the pump is at fault. I believe you may have a motor controller problem, though. Another possibility is getting something caught in the drain pump reservoir. This could binding the pump. Let me know if any of this is helpful to you.

Clothing slipped under washtub

It's quite a long process to remove the wash tub! Read all of this before starting - including the part about new parts #1-unplug the machine \ turn off water! #2-the top of the cabinet must be lifted from the front (slip a putty knife into the front groove to release the right & left clips - about 6" from corners) #3-carefully lift top up from front until it is vertical (support it so it won't fall) #4-undo clips and hoses that hold tub top ring in place and carefully remove it #5-plastic top (cap) of agitator in bottom center of tub must be removed (short screw driver should unclip it at four small holes) #6-remove 6 bolts from around inside of area that was under cap and remove plastic washtub bottom as well as center plastic dome #7-now center keeper nut must be removed from universal joint for agitator - now the whole steel tub should be able to be lifted off of the splines (pay attention to the relationship of the splines so you can put it back just as it was!! Now you should be able to clear everything from the area that was below the tub! Also check the outlet for any other clothing items!! when this all goes back together, its recommended that all new rubber washers and seals be used to make sure that the universal joint assembly stays dry!! GOOD LUCK
