I was able to fix the problem nut it requires several steps and only
offers a temporary fix (untill the calculator is reset then it needs to
be done again).
1. Press F5, then Dimond (symbol on buttion) then "Clear"
2. Press "alpha" then "S"
3. Press "0" dont mess with anything else here
4. Press "2nd" then "Quit"
Now you can turn it off but are missing the bottom text (rad, auto, etc...) to fix
6. Press "Mode" change radian to degree then "enter"
Now the text is displayed showing the mode.
7. Set the mode back to radian by reversing step 6.
Thats it I dont know how to get the bottom line back though...

"Too Few Arguments" Error
the problem is you haven't given it anything to solve...
always add a comma and the variable after any solve, differentiate or intergrate problem...
eg:
solve(x^2=4) is wrong!
intead put:
solve(x^2=4, x)
Hope this helps

V=2sin(2pi500t-45^0)
What do you want to do with this equation? Plot it? Differentiate it? Integrate it? Find its roots (there are an infinite number of them)?

Can you get ordered pairs for the 3D equations?
I am not sure I understand but I will try. Do you want to generate a table of values for a surface you have graphed? If I guessed right then I am sorry to inform you that the TABLE is not available in 3D. I have just tried to generate a table for the surface z1=(x^3*y-y^3*x)/390 )an example from the manual). When I pressed [Diamond][Table] I got the message reported earlier.

Find the max of x*sin(x)
The function is unbounded. The function x*sin(x) oscillates from -x to x. As x approaches infinity the function also approaches infinity.

Illegal instruction on screen
A hard reset will clear all RAM.
1. Remove the batteries if that's the only way to turn it off.
2. Re-insert the batteries.
3. Press and hold down the left-arrow, right-arrow, and 2nd keys.
4. Press and release the ON key.
That should give you back control of your calculator. If it doesn't, add a comment here.

Ti-89 titanium SIN!!!!!
The answer that you have received in actuality is correct. However, it is in exact form when the answer that you were looking for was an approximation (decimal form) answer. To achieve this all you have to do is hit the alpha button (the yellow button with a diamond in the center) and then enter which will give you your desired answer :-)
