Janome 9000 willl not work when turned on
My Janome 9000 has always done that. I can prevent it by raising the needle when I first start the machine, getting it to sew quickly or raising the needle and letting the machine sit for a few minutes. I think my computer wants to warm up a minute. As you can see I.m not a technical person but it works for me.
Janome memory craft 8000
We have about 30 electroluminescent backlights for the 8000 still available .These are not original Janome parts. You will need a Janome service person to install then for you as it requires taking apart alot of the machine to get to the display. We can provide instructions if this person is unsure how to fit. Once the display is out, the process is simple. They are AUD$60 each including shipping. Email at

Every time I hit the start button to perform
the sensor must not be working. I thought the 9000 lowered feed dogs automatically when embroidery option is choosen anyway. There is a manual as well as on screen drop feed dogs method for this machine
WHERE IS THE FUSE FOR THE JANOME MEMORY CRAFT
Remove the top cover by taking the two large screws and the small one under the handle, LHS.
Remove the left side cover. The hidden screw is a 2.5mm allen accessed through the vent.
Lay the machine on its back and remove the four large phillips screws on the bottom and the small screw for the side, paying extreme caution with respect to the embroidery arm.
CAREFULLY move the bottom to the left and out of the way.
Inside the body of the machine you will see a black box held in place by three or torx/slotted screws. Remove the screws and, as you slowly pull the box out MAKE NOTE OF WHICH WIRES PLUG IN WHERE.
JANOME MEMORYCRAFT 8000 STEPPING MOTOR
if you ever have this problem, it is because you have had something in the way of the embroidery arm at the back of the machine, so it has not been able to move freely; you'll get a terrible noise as the machine is unable to do what it wants, slips gears or something and then can't bring the arm to its home position. But fear not, i have found if you turn the machine off and gently push the arm back home to touch the machine as it is the start position, when you turn it on, it will work fine and no harm done. just make sure the arm can move freely before you start embroidery!
