Hello, the error message your printer display is as a result of your printer's purge until it had reached it counter limit and you have to reset the printer by leaving it unplugged for at least 2 hours and then boot it back up. this will flash the memory of the machine.

Ok you have to change your printing settings to operate from the black ink cartridge. You are still printing under colour.

The printer ribbon contact may be at fault. With the price of printers so low it makes no sense to repair it, just replace it. The last printer i needed was free after rebate, just the sales tax of $5 is all it cost me at a big box electronics store.

Still the logic board thinks there must be a paper jam. Could be caused by a defective sensor, bad connection from sensor to logic board or a defective logic board. And what is very common, something dropped in the printer and really blocks a sensor. check all places where the paper can go, if perhaps a paperclip or a little scrap od paper is blocking a sensor. Or contact a service centre, or perhaps you start sving for a new printer?

Sounds like there is still paper in there, carefully move the carriage assembly to the left and look in with a flashlight, also check the left side with the light. Usually paper gets wrinkled and shoved to one side or the other.

the purge cam is not working properly, if you do not see some type of paper crumbled up in the left side or right in the direction the printhead needs to move, then its something more serious. you will need to send the printer to your local service center, if you can find one, we can help. thanks

yes you must remove the plastic strip before inserting the cartriges other wise the ink cant cover the head or jet

Press Stop/Reset to get the printer back to the root maintenance menu. Then press 99 and ok and that will switch the printer out of Service Mode.
