Rival 3755 5.5-Quart - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
I am looking for a
I believe the design of the handle on the SCE502 is poor and will fail over time. The nut in ours fell out of the handle, and we were holding the black plastic handle while the glass lid was falling to the floor. Ours failed this weekend, and luckily, when the lid fell, it did not break. After looking over the lid and the black handle, I purchased a 1/4-28 screw and a 1/4-28 nut (original was corroded). I drilled a hole completely through the handle and now the black handle is securely attached to the glass lid with a stainless steel screw and nut..

Looking for glass lid to replace the one that
Hi there, it is always difficult to find replacement parts for crock pots, since there are so many different designs. However, I have found them in places like GOODWILL, and SALVATION ARMY stores. Also, sometimes regular pot lids will work as well. I would also look on eBay and Etsy and other online auctions. I looked on sites for crock pot replacement lids and them seem to not have yours. But don't give up....You are right, why give up on a working appliance. Measure the dimensions of the liner and see if you can find a regular pot lid....it doesn't have to be made of glass. Happy hunting!

Looking for ceramic bowl
Rival parts are sold through www.crock-pot.com.
They don't show any parts available for this model, but there's a toll-free number listed you can call. They may be able to suggest an alternate part or make some other suggestions. Good luck, and thanks for using Fixya.

Do you still need the insert for crock pot? I have one. It does cost a lot to ship because it's so heavy, also depending on where you live.

Warped lid ?
The heating element of my 5.5 Qt Crock Pot (Model 3755) burned out yesterday, so I now have a LID For SALE. This particular model was one of the better ones I have used over the last 30 years and it's a shame to lose it in a puff of smoke. I had the unit for five or six years and got my money's worth out of it. (That's good, because the Rival company's customer service and repair departments ****). If you are interested, contact me at

Handle on crockpot lid broke off.can I replace it at store where purchased?
I have had the same problem. Spoke to rival customer service and they no longer sell replacement lids for model number SCE502. I've read to take the screw from the knob to a hardware store and then find a knob which will fit it.
Someone else suggested that if the knob is mostly intact, ask hardware store for araldite glue
