Then you fix whatever is wrong and the scan tool rests the code. Limp Mode is ONLY activated if something is wrong that can catastrophically damage the engine. You are the only person to have one with demonic possession but they do have some history with starting. :>D You have something where a connection isn't wide enough apart and that sizzling is the contacts arcing, heating up and moving together to complete the circuit. The likely place would be the starter button, the starter relay, or the starter motor solenoid.
