My yamaha ef6300isde is not charging the starting battery. Fuse is okay. I charge the battery with a battery tender (Optimate) every second day so I can use the inverter. Replace the diodes?

SOURCE: Charging problem.. Wont charge battery

The instructions for installing a new alternator usually read to fully charge the battery (12.3 - 12.8 volt range). Otherwise, the alternator will be damaged when it initializes. I have seen some extreme damage result from installing a new alternator with a low-charge battery. The torque required to turn an alternator when damaged in this scenario is unbelieveable!

SOURCE: charging system

Hi You can use a volt meter to test the charge rate
get bike running & raise the revs to see if charge rate increases
load up the system by switching on lights to see if it decreases
make sure battery connections are clean & tight
if it does not change then the alternator is faulty

SOURCE: inverter won't charge

The problem is the batteries. 1) Check the age of them to assure they are not near warranty limit. If so change them. 2) They must be topped off. I recommend using distilled water within every 30-60 days. Summary: After doing item 2 above charge them with an external charger; while connected to inverter is ok. Does this help?

I have a 2001 Dyna Low Rider, ever since I put it on the battery tender it just clicks when I try to start it, what could be the problem?

A Battery Tender will not charge a battery. They will maintain a "Charged" battery. Typically, if you put it on a low battery it will stay low of charge. Try cleaning the battery terminals and charge the battery, then turn the Battery Tender on.

Left key in ignition overnight, had to jump start bike. now the main fuse keeps blowing

You haven't said what model or year of kawasaki.

Some newer bikes aren't supposed to be jump started. Take the battery off the bike, replace the fuse, charge the battery on a proper charger overnight (as opposed to a battery conditioner like optimate). It should now start fine and not blow the fuse.

If that doesn't sort it, the dealer will need to reset something.

Storing 2006 HD 1200 XL Custom for the winter. I have it hooked up to battery tender. Periodically I will take it off the tender when indicator light turns green, indicating battery is fully charged. ...

yes, the charge will bleed off just a bit in two or three days, just enough to reset the battery tender. it shouldn't take but a few minutes before the battery is again "topped off" and the green light comes on. But keep in mind that even with a battery tender, age will eventually get to your battery and it'll go bad. The battery tender extends the life of a battery but it can't extend it forever.

2008 R6. Battery discharges completely when allowed to sit. Owner replace four batteries. Voltage checked with bike at 5000 RPM and is charging (14.4 V). When the bike is put on a Battery Tender, the...

You have a voltage drain on your bike while the key is off that is why the tender wont full charge the battery. If you have any electrical accessories such as an alarm try disconnecting them they may be draining your battery while sitting. If no accessories then you have a short somewhere in the harness causing the drain.

Bike will not start no power

Touch a 12" piece of wire to one terminal then touch the other end of the wire to the other terminal. Got a really good spark? No spark = bad battery. Okay, so you do get a good spark. Check the wiring harness for an unplugged wire. Also check for loose connections and burned wires. Bad ignition switch? Kill switch turned on?

Didn't know about the 'drain before charge' with an optimate. That is how I did mine......filled with acid stuck on the Optimate........charged in about 4 hours IIRC.....(green lights). ,
