Which way does the fuel filter go on?
SOURCE: Yamaha YZ250 F fuel is getting into the oil reserve tank
Sounds like a cracked piston, valve seal, or head. The fuel travels from the tank, to the carb, to the intake valves. If it is doing it while it is just sitting, you have a clogged overflow in the carb, which means your float valve is not closing properly, and there is debris in the overflow. Even with all this, it fill up the intake valve area and getting past the seal, or seaping through the valve while it is open to the top of the piston and to the crank case from there. Start with the overflow tube and float valve, and go from there. Fixing these two items could resolve your entire problem. If not, move on to the head. Pull your spark plug, check the compression, and kick the bike over to see if fuel sprays out. If you need a manual, I can send you a digital copy for $20, or a grease proof binder and CD for $100.
