For a honda 1999-2000 CBR600

you will need a 108 chain link. This is the standard link considering your front teeth has 15 and rear has 45.

If you're not sure of the chain length, buy the 120 link 530 Heavy Duty chain. THe longer the better, you can always cut the chain (using a chain cutter and repair kit) if its excessive.

I recommend you buy the gold chain-type.

Hi,
You will need a 112 link chain that includes the master link.
Part #s for your chain are: DID525HV-112YB,
and RK525ROZ1-112LJFZ.
The above listed part #'s are from the service manual for your bike.
If you are buying an aftermarket chain, these numbers should be useful when ordering.
You will also need to purchase a Chain tool set for removing and replacing the old master link. Don't reuse any of the old parts on the new chain. Be sure to install the master from the inside of the chain.
I hope this helps

I have a 05 honda cbr 600rr, im looking at changing the chain and sproket. what size and lenth and all that stuff do i need to get

1st. - NEVER change sprockets without changing the chain..and vice-versa!! - they need to be replaces as a set...they wear our almost equally.. ie - a worn out chain will wear out new sprockets... A new chain will get stretched out by worn sprockets real quick!
Its east to tell what you have...
  • OEM sprocket size: 16/43 - 2.68 ratio.
1. Count the teeth on your front sprocket.
2. Count the teeth on your rear sprocket.
Compare yours with stock(OEM)..
Now, if your sprockets match the stock sizes - count the number of links in your chain...(count the inner links).
If the sprockets are different sizes you adjust the chain by that number using inner links. - Usually people go smaller on the front or a larger rear.. this increases the ratio to give a quicker take-off - (more acceleration).
15/43 = 2.86
15/44 = 2.93
15/45 = 3.00
15/46 = 3.06
..when you get a new chain... better to get one a couple links too long than one link too short!!
Your local dealer will be more than helpful!!

Bought a 03honda cbr 600rr, front sproket had been changed out and rear tire moved back. chain is loose 2"+ in slack but i can not move tire back any further in swing arms. can I move rear tire up and...

hi, prob good idea with this will be to slacken off the wheel push the wheel forward and fit a chain the correct length for the set up you have, count the links in the chain you have on the bike and get one 2 links shorter, mark a link on the chain with paint or sim turn the wheel and count the link plates, ie 1 plate is 2 links, so start on the 1 next to the marked 1 turning the wheel counting the plates 2 4 6 8 10 etc and end on the marked 1 this will give you the number of links already on the bike

I need a new timing chain tensioner can i change it

If you're replacing the tensioner only, yes it is simple. Held on by 2 bolts . Replacing the rubbing blocks is far more tricky since you need to get the head and barrels off.
