It sounds like you need a carb clean performed. the idle cuciut jet is probably dirty and that is the jet that supplies gas to the combustion process at idle rpm's. when you have the choke pulled out it is adding fuel and air so when you shut off the choke the fuel supply goes away. for the oils use yamalube 2 stroke oil for pre-mix and 10w -30 gear oil for your tranny.

Brand new tailgator gas 63cc and has smoked and choked from out the box and this is the second day now wont stay running

assuming this is a 2 stroke small engine, smoking is a sign of wrong oil / fuel mix
add to that it the oil mix is wrong, the jets in the carby have trouble passing the fuel easily so there will be a choking problem
It is a 4 stroke , take it back for a warranty check and adjustment

I was using my o17 saw today it was runing Just fine I shut it off when I went to start it again it fired on choke seting after that I could not get it to do anything what is wrong with it

All 2-strokes love to run rich when cold thus full choke till it kicks, half choke to start and leave on for 5 seconds high rev's to warm & lubricate, then no choke to run. Restart when hot is 1 pull full choke (you are now flooded) & then no choke til it starts. Try it. Works every time on all of my 2-stroke engines.

Hi Most likely your engine shut off first then the light goes on as soon as the engine oil pressure dropped sounds like you have a carb problem and the motorcycle is running on the choke circuit. then it dies after the choke is turned off.

New poulan pro 25cc chokes out after if I give it full throttle. Runs ok except it wont stay running on full throtle.

I find with my Poulan Pro that you need to let it warm-up abit before applying full throttle, I live in Upstate NY where the weather has bee great lately, however, it stalls easy ..I mix 1-pint of 3 stroke oil to 1-gallon of gas for my weed eater and have no problem

Did u put oil on the air filter? if thats ok then it sounds like you have a clogged pilot jet in the carb, pull the float bowl and remove jets then poke thru with fine wires untill clean. also take note of air mixture screw which will be located around the opening of the carb. clockwise will richen it up and start to make the idle drop and counter clockwise will do the opposite.

See if there is an oil pressure guage on the dash. When you start the machine it probably has a low oil pressure shutdown which shuts the engine off when you release the start button. This is an interlock. Watch the oil guage and keep the start button engaged until you see oil pressure, release the button and it will continue to run at that point. Your second issue may be a function of the choke. If you are having to choke the engine to start, you may have to play with the choke position to keep from overfueling the unit which may cause it to stall and possibly backfire as it has to much fuel to be burned on the compression stroke, and is igniting occasionally on the intake stroke. Hope this helps. Marvin

13.5 OHV B&S won't stay running, blows gas out carb.

Sounds like you have a blown valve. I'm assuming this is a 4 stroke motor, if it was 2 stroke then it would be the reed valves. But either way it's the valves.... unfortunately that will require a mechanic :(

poss. is fuel pressure reg. problem. put a guage on the test port and check press. should be above 35psi. see if it stays running when you spray choke cleaner in the pcv valve steadily while starting. if the engine stays running after a few seconds of running on choke cleaner then probably a bad fuel pump relay cause the oil pressure switch will keep the pump on without the relay when it has good oil pressure.
let me know if ya can do this or if it helps.
