2003 yz 426 f hi can you tell me if my bike
Of course, The neutral safty switch is in series with your starter circuit.. three points: at clutch lever, at kickstand and at the transmission.. Do not bypass any of these switches. Good Luck.
Can i use full synthetic motul oil in my 2000 yz426f
All oils must meet the standards of the US government
Department of Weights and Measures . Just use the better known brands like Shell, Mobil, Pennzoil, Quaker State, etc.. Do not get the ones with"Special" additives.
NEVER use synthetics. Some of the additives and most of the synthetics will swell the cork on the clutch friction plates. Then the clutch will not disengage and now it is time for new friction plates. Use 10w40 motor oil and you are doing good.
I just bought a 426, I can not get it to start. I
First to get it to top dead center you have to push down the kicker about two times slowly until it feels hard, that's when the compression it the engine is maximum.
If it has not been run for that amount of time you have to take the carb out and clean it thoroughly as petrol often calcifies when it's left stagnant for a long period of time.
How to remove swinging arm pin
prop the bike up on a stand or cement block so the rear tire is off the ground. then loosen the the large nut but do not remove it. just un-screw it about half way, then take a block fo wood and place it on the nut. then hit the block of wood with a hammer. continue hotting the block untill the nut is against the frame. now remove the big nut the rest of the way. now put the block of wood over the end of the bolt and drive it till its flush with the frame. at this point you should be able to get ahold of the bolt(pin) and wiggle the rear tire around and pull the bolt out the rest of the way. if not then use a long flat blade screw driver and drive it out with the hammer.

My 2001 yz426f has a problem with engine coolant
wHOOOAA...HEAVY DUDE. What Beattie means is your cook seal meat with heat..Right ??.
I'd say you've blown a prop shaft seal . Whip it out and replace that weeping ****** before you forget about it and cause mega buck engine damage. While you've got the shaft out, check it for true(spin it in a drill , be carefull ).also polish up the shaft ever so gently where the seal makes contact. You'll be ruling the roost instead of cooking your goose once you do this ARGUS....Cheers from down under.
Tilleydog282...Check my web site and ask a question if that doesnt get ya outta trouble.. Google.."Motohq". about halfway down first page Ozzie sites..Vshop...Catchya...Argus.

G'day TJP..OK...Lets concertrate on starting procedure.Bring the piston up on the compression stroke , you will feel the kickstarter offering resistance.Pull in the decomp lever and bring slight pressure on your kicking leg,you only want to move the kickstart lever 10-20 mm.Close the decomp and kick her in the guts...show her who's BOSS...Be a MAN.Dont forget the choke, fully out when cold, but no more after a few kicks. Keep on try'in, you'll get it.I've seen guys kickin and kickin till the cows come home only to find that they have sooted up the plug and need a hip replacement.Once you do master it you'll have every man, woman and child wanting YOU to start their 4 stroker for them.I think there is something about starting procedure in the service manual...check it out.
failing that you may have to clean the carby,IE, air ways, pilot jet etc
Good luck...TJP98611.Please leave feedback if i've helped.

How do you set the timing on a 1998yz400
the cams should say ex, int on cam sprockets if not the cam with 3 lobes for intake cam with 2 lobes exhuast, piston at top then set the cams with cam lobes facing outwards almost like a VEE there is i think a dot on each cam gear which must line up with the head. then turn the motor by hand
What is the stock chain size for a 2000 yz426f
The link size is a 520. I recommend an "O" ring or "X" ring chain. They last much longer than the stock junk. They come in lenghts that need to be fitted to your bike, so you install it, mark it where you need to cut it, and remove it. I grind down the pins on the link I'm removing and use a hammer and punch to drive them out. Measure twice, and cut once, no room for mistakes here. They also come available with a master link with a clip, or a "penable" link that makes it a one piece chain.
Cant start the bike
so you replaced the plug with the same exact plug you took out only new?
and you changed the crank case oil?
and the air filter?
it sounds like the carb may be dirty or clogged with sediment from sitting.
take the carb off and remove the float bowl. blow the jets out with air and make sure there is nothing clogging it up.
also, take the tank off and make sure the coil wire is secure and the coil is tight. check other wiring while your in there.
there is a wire loom that runs from the coil to the ignition inside the cases, check that wiring and take the cover off the ignition plate and see if there is oil fowling the electrical. clean it also. you can use electricaal parts cleaner
get a can of carb cleaner so when you have it apart you can spray it to clean.
also if you spray a squirt of quik start in the air filter just before you kick it if it has spark it will try and start.
I have a kdx 250 2 stroke, it runs good but my problem is my carb
first how old is your bike, if its older than 10 years, you may have other problems, carbs are pretty basic, if you can start your bike the carb is working fine, there should be a screw or something that controls your idle find it and play with it till you get engine where you want it. clean your air filter, change your oil, and spark plug, make sure you tighten to 8 lbs torque, and make sure its the right plug, and right gap, if it still not idle right take apart your carb and clean it real good, take apart real carefully and have pics of your carb, in parts ordering in case you forget some parts
