No you can't. You will burn out the switches. Just buy a used kickstand relay for $15 and a flasher relay for $8.71. There appears to be two relays, one for flasher and one for relay. Remove the carbs from the bike, then remove the bottom of the carbs to gain access to the floats. You want to flip the carbs upside down and set them level by bending the tabs.

Make sure the ECU is working properly. Check all fuses to make sure good. Check starter and battery wires for good connection and electrical current

Hey Joel, I am a little confused... is it an ignition fault ..or a transmission fault?? ... I think the different issues will show up as totally different symptoms.. First.. new spark plugs..(make SURE they are the EXACT FACTORY replacements).. and gapped correctly!! Is it a minor or intermittent miss... or is it a constant miss.... and it COULD still be in the carbs.. How did you sync the carbs? Did you remove the pilot jets and make sure ALL the air/gas passages were clean..(Brake cleaner sprayed thru ALL OF THEM!!)??.. Please tell me more --with details!!..Reply on here Thanks

countershaft seal leaking OR it may have a self oiler thats not adjusted right.

I had a similar with my Suzuki....turned out to be the coil, it would get hot and the spark would fade and eventually the engine would die and wouldnt restart till it cooled off...Good luck with it!!

change the fuel in tank,clean carbs ,change the spark plugs ,change the oil.check all brake lines ,calipers,and pads. check tires for weather crack in tread and side wall

faulty/sticking sidestand or clutch lever lockout switch

I have the same problem with my katana 750, I can't crack it and it tops out at 120.

Look at the back of the fuse block to make sure wires are in good shape and connected.

check clutch cable maybe loose enuf to work but not enuf to make good contact

You use a funnel and pour it directly into the crank case. usually located lower on the right hand side of most suzuki motorcycles. The cap will twist off and is about the size of a quarter. looks similar to this :

that is a aftermarket spiked cap though but it will be in the same area on your bike.

The norm is about 1 1/2 to 2 turns out and to adjust it around that parameter to achieve perfect idling.

probably needs to be reset. try to disconnect the battery, let it sit a couple minutes the hook back up. If that doesnt help, sensor may be bad.

Your bike came in at 80 HP, the 99 year model had 86 HP you can check and see if that year had a larger pilot jet. you are running leaner because of increased air flow. Excellent in you can get more fuel with it. You should be able to go up to the next size and cure your problem. Your Pilot Jet is 75% cruise Mixture and 25% idle mixture. Rule of thumb....
If you go 1 size larger or smaller on the size of the pilot jet, you will change the fuel screw ~1.5x richer or leaner to retain the original idle mixture - Dennis Kirk 6am to Midnight Central: 1-800-969-7501 tell them what you want.
