2002 kawasaki ninja 250 motor on ATV need wiring help
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
To my knowledge, there would only be 3 wires needed from the handlebars that affects the engine:
- engine RUN/OFF;
- clutch ENGAGED;
- engine START.
The first 2 would go to the interlock plus the neutral wire and the sidestand wire. The interlock then sends signals that starter motor can turn and that CDI can fire.
As to the ignition coil, 1 wire is IGN B+12 while the other would go to the CDI and should pulsate when cranking or engine running.
Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.
My, 2008 kawasaki ninja 250,
Hey Simon,
I would haul it to a local (GOOD) locksmith, they will get it open..
Are you 110% SURE it the RIGHT key???
Good luck...
If you lose the keys what can you do?
Hello and thanks for the question.
If you have lost the keys you only have two options. The ignition switch is the most detailed switch and will need to be replaced or have another key cut to work. I have removed the switch and taken to a locksmith with good results. The other option is to have locksmith come to the bike. the results would depend on your locksmith. When the bike was purchased new it had a tag with the keys that had a numerical code. If you have that code the dealer should be able to cut a key for it.
Remember that the key opens the ignition, fuel tank and the seat. If you can not get another key made, you will have to replace all three locks.
Thanks and I hope that this helps.
Steve
How do i test a starter solenoid on my ninja 250
I normally put a screwdriver between the terminals on the solenoid to see if it starts. If it does The second thing to do is listen for a click in the solenoid when pressing the start button. If it does but doesn't turn the starter then it's the solinoid at fault not the starter button. If you get nothing when connecting the terminals it's proberly the starter motor or connections.
2006 Kawasaki Ninja 250 will not start
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Your post "
engine will not turn start", are you referring to the starter motor not turning or is it cranking but will not run?
- if no crank, check the starter relay;
- will not run, verify that there is spark at the end of the plugs;
- will not tun, verify that there is fuel in the bowl of the carb (drain again);
- if it has a fuel valve, set to PRI.
Incidentally, any clicking sound when you press START? Pls postback updates.
Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.
I have to pump the rear brake atleast two times
The pads are chattering and moving away from the disc or you have a load of air in the system. You may need to add/replace anti-vibration clips. Are your discs warped? That would force the pads away.
1992 Kawasaki Ninja 600R Electrical Problems
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
A couple of initial checks (
after battery has been fully charged):
- presence or absence of spark when starting - unplug 1 of the sparkplug wires. Attach a spare known good sparkplug and lay it against any metal part. Crank/start the engine. Chaeck for sparks;
- try starting with the clutch lever pulled in and/or the sidestand folded up;
- exercise the 'Kill Switch' and the ignition switch;
- loosen the drain screws of the carbs. Note the quality and quantity of fuel that would flow out from the drain hose. Compare between all carbs.
Please postback results of above initial tests.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.
